  1. I have regular Module, then upgraded to Module Pro. Along the way I bought a number of in app purchases and those load "automatically". I can only guess that the free version doesn't have any frills.
  2. If your rig sounds good through your Motion Sound, I would suggest you work with the sound person to improve the organ sound in the PA.
  3. Rest in peace Jimmy Weaver, aka Blueskeys. You were a good person and heck of a musician.
  4. I stood up to play for years, but now days I use a tall fold up stool and alternate sitting, leaning, or standing as the night progresses.
  5. This is the rig I use for gigs and is a favorite out of all the different gear I've had through the years. MOXF's into a Key Largo feeding Yamaha DXR's for stage monitors in stereo, sounds great! .
  6. Motifator.com is a great site to find answers to questions on any of the Motif series boards. Yamaha terminology can be confusing, so don't let that trip you up. It pays to read up on the literature. Using the "Favorites" feature is the easiest place to start while you learn some of other ways to be creative.
  7. No apology needed ! I understand that there aren't that many around who can field this question, but we'll see if anyone drops by to reply. Thanks Mike. Don
  8. I am using a MOXF8/MOXF6 combination for my live playing rig and want to set-up a computer (software) to manage the memory usage for samples I install on the MOXF"s. (Both of the MOXF"s have the 1 GB memory expansions.) I was thinking of getting the John Melas XF Motif Tools (with Waveform Editor) and noted that package does some limited conversions of some non-motif sample files. Then I got to thinking about all of the sample CD"s I already have in other formats, (mostly EMU and some Roland, Akai, Giga, and old NI discs.) I have an old version of Chicken Systems Translator in my old home studio computer and have used it on a limited basis. My primary mission is to be able to manage the expansion memories in the MOXF"s , but it sure would be nice to have access to all of the non-MOXF sample files I already own. The John Melas Waveform Editor software seems to manage the sample data more effectively than the translator. The computer can handle it , specs are HP Z600, 2 x Xeon X5650 2.66GHz Processors (12 cores total) , 48GB RAM , 1GB Video, 256GB SSD, Windows 10 64 bit , 1TB Western Digital 7200 RPM storage, CD-DVD/RW Media Drive Do I need to have both software packages to 1) convert and 2) effectively manage my MOXF memory usage? Are there other packages to consider? Shout out and Thanks to Craig Anderton for enabling me to make a transition from the old days of analog equipment (and no midi) to today"s digital world. I still have my copy of 'Home Recording for Musicians' !
  9. There is an old saying that "time heals all wounds" so eventually most learn that we all are just human and boo-boos are part of life. Forgive yourself and don't fret over the gig. Have you looked into the idea of using an Iphone or Ipad to program your patch set-ups? It's relatively easy to do, apps are cheap, and that takes away most of the worry. Forgive yourself and move on ! Don
  10. I recently changed out all of my live stage gear and am very happy with the sound and clarity of this set-up. Unfortunately, our sound guy isn't worth a crap and doesn't know how to mix. Fortunately I am too old to get in a squabble with the sound guy or band leader over this issue. I'll just collect my money and keep on rolling.
  11. I'm pretty sure I still have my Artari 1040ST packed away in my music room closet. I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away.
  12. I'm with Tim. Remember to smile. .
  13. FWIW Bruce Wahler has some tips for improved leslie settings on the 2001 CX3. He is no longer in business working on the CX3 but is doing a service to the player community by leaving this information to help others. Varying the settings can let you adjust the leslie to better suit your ear. The site is http://www.ashbysolutions.com/clonewheel/cx-3fix.html. - Don
  14. I am 1 of 3 keyboard players (who gig with bands) in my area. Others have come and gone over the years, but the 3 of us are still going.
  15. That's not very far from where I live. Thank goodness my garage is already full...........lol
  16. I recently switched from a Motion Sound KP200S to using a Radial Key Largo mixer with two Yamaha DXR10's powered speakers. The Key Largo is smaller form factor with high quality audio. The keys never sounded better. Don

  18. Learn to trust your ears versus charts and specs. FRFR (Full Range Flat Response) powered speakers can be amazing. I use Yamaha DXR 10's without any EQ in the audio feed to the speaker. It sounds great without any adjustment. That sold me. YMMV Don
