  1. My emotional support animal is a chicken. A four piece. With a biscuit!
  2. I stole this but good none-the-less; C, E-flat, and G go into a bar. The bartender says, "Sorry, but we don't serve minors." So E-flat leaves, and C and G have an open fifth between them. After a few drinks, the fifth is diminished, and G is out flat. F comes in and tries to augment the situation, but is not sharp enough. D comes in and heads for the bathroom, saying, "Excuse me; I'll just be a second." Then A comes in, but the bartender is not convinced that this relative of C is not a minor. Then the bartender notices B-flat hiding at the end of the bar and says, "Get out! You're the seventh minor I've found in this bar tonight." E-flat comes back the next night in a three-piece suit with nicely shined shoes. The bartender says, "You're looking sharp tonight. Come on in, this could be a major development." Sure enough, E-flat soon takes off his suit and everything else, and is au natural. Eventually C sobers up and realizes in horror that he's under a rest. C is brought to trial, found guilty of contributing to the diminution of a minor, and is sentenced to 10 years of D.S. without Coda at an upscale correctional facility.
  3. I did get it to work. Now I just need to figure out how to get the expression pedal to control the organ sound.
  4. Does anybody know if the Hammond SK Pro can layer organ and electric piano whereas the electric piano spans the entire keyboard and the organ is split between upper and lower manual. I will primarily play electric piano and then use the expression pedal to bring the organ in.
  5. I have read that Garage Band does not send midi out of the iPad. I have tried Garage Band with no success.
  6. Please forgive me if this has been asked. I did a search but cannot find much. I am looking for a sequencer app for the iPad that can send and receive MIDI to and from external keyboards, specifically a Yamaha MODX. The sequencer needs to have a piano roll editor, at least 480 ppq, the "standard" editing features and should be actively developed. Audio recording is not needed but is fine if it happens to be included with whatever app I decide on. Thanks you all in advance for your recommendations.
  7. Fantastic use of resources that some of us would take for granted or write off as inadequate. It's great to get a lesson in creativity.
  8. It would be good if they would add piano roll editing to the sequencer.
  9. Dave, Do you have a recommendation for a particular stylus that works well with both the MODX and the Fantom 0?

  13. Also, you might want to install a MAC OS MIDI Ox equivalent on your Mac and see if Sibelius or GarageBand is transmitting any "funny" data or MIDI messages.
  14. I think the first thing to try would be loading or reloading the current firmware and then doing a factory reset.
  15. One other possibility is to check all your capacitors with an ESR meter (Equivalent Series Resistance). You can verify capacitors in-circuit with one of these.
  16. Just for giggles and grins, check all the visible solder joints. That unit probably uses lead free or low lead content solder which tends to crack or otherwise deteriorate at some point.
  17. Those are Zoom products, not Samson. I have a few of those and love them all. Zoom makes great equipment. Samson makes very good equipment.
  18. Good movie.....I have spoken......
  19. The answer is probably yes to both of those questions. If Kurzweil does not have a sysex file for the PC161, you could probably find one online. That is assuming that the presets are in fact lost.
  20. I would take a serious look at the RME Babyface Pro. RME writes their own stellar drivers and supports their products for a very long time. Latencies are very low.

  23. I love me some Walter Wanderley. Here's another good one. I play it out somewhat often.
  24. Just to clarify what I am asking. Let's suppose I start a sequence at 130 bpm and I place a tempo of 135 bpm two bars before the end of the sequence. I would like for the tempo to gradually and smoothly change from the original 130 bpm at the start to 135 bpm two bars from the end over the course of the sequence. Also, let's suppose I place a tempo of 60 bpm at the very end of the sequence. I would want the sequence to gradually and smoothly transition from the 135bpm two bars from the end to the 60 bpm at the very end of the sequence. I do my initial building of sequences in Reaper and port them over as MIDI files to the Kurzweil PC361. I could embed the tempo changes directly into the MIDI files as far as I know. But, I would not be able to adjust tempos and such at a gig or without re-exporting it from Reaper. So, if I could do the tempo parameters directly in the Kurzweil, I would always have control over the tempos in and out of my studio.
  25. Does anyone know how or if it is even possible to gradually transition from one tempo to another in the Kurzweil PC361 sequencer? I am unable to locate any info on this in the user manual or through Googling. Any help is much appreciated.
