  1. Linwood: Ivan Lins rocks. Nice! How did you do the lead?

Mr. Garage: You have made the mistake of believing what is advertised, that is a Forum. It's better understood as a treehouse, where you have to stand around looking up until one of the big kids lets you up the ladder. Someone will let you up after you've made 50 or so posts on one of the many Hammond clone threads that are always running. Once you do that, you are fine until you initiate a topic that someone initiated 18 months previously, unless it is related to Hammond clones. You can't do that until you've reached 500 or so posts, at which point you can make any useless or exclusionary post you'd like.

Nice folks here though. . .really. . .and some great exchanges of information.

  2. My cover band does "Walk This Way," and on the C7 break after the first chorus we quote a little bit of the Meters' "Cissy Strut." Well, a few weeks ago we had just started that tune when George Porter Jr. walked into the club. He was standing there watching us, and as that part came up we were all looking at each other like, "Are we really gonna do this in front of him?" So we did. Luckily he smiled and seemed to get a kick out of it. He didn't hang around long after that song, but I was just glad he didn't walk out in disgust.

I'm willing to bet that he thinks you guys ad-libbed that in his honor.

  3. measuring the storage space is a good start, but may not be sufficient. Ocasionally you will find a situation where the keyboard does fit in the car, but the top of the car would have to be removed to get the keyboard INTO the car. Door armrests, doors that don't open 90 degrees. . .even trunk designs that don't allow for a straight shot into a splitback seat/trunk space can foil the best laid plans. Failsafe?? Buy retail; drive to the store, put a demo in the appropriate case and try and load it, or do the same with a friend that has the setup you are thinking about.
