  1. Have you tried using Audacity to record then export as MP3?
  2. d-kay, I know I need new equipment so are you willing to buy them for me?? Let me know when you're ready to send them so I can post my mailing address!
  3. Dan South -- Fugue, I Love it!! Wow! Some serious sequencing going on there buddy! I like your music anyways. "Rain Dance" has Triton written all over it (am I right?). Korg need to hire you to make demos for them for any upcoming products. Smokin'...
  4. iStyles: Thanks for listening! The QS is the only keyboard/sounds I have right now until I make use of Edirol's Virtual Sound Canvas, Reason, and FruityLoops. I dunno what I'm waiting for...
  5. IanD: "what kit do you use?" I used three different kits on my Alesis QS6.1 (not all in the same song though). I used "straight8", "8oh8" and "9Time." Those are my fav kits. Starfucker: "ktempo:The tune KTempo was nice but i way prefered Sista Breeze - but for the most part thats just because i prefer faster tempos.I think though (if you dont mind me saying) that it would really benefit from a big deep smooth bass line the whole way through (maybe like Zero7 or Air). thats just a personal thing again though." I agree with you about having a smooth deep bassline throughout. I might go back and do some more editing and such and also use an acoustic drumkit or something like Dan South suggested with Sista Breeze. Thanks guys! Kim
  6. IanD: I love Happy Ending!! Wow!! I'm here at work jammin' to your cool cut. People are looking at me funny!! LOL! I'm listening to it through headphones though--no speakers. Love the DX Piano and the cool rhythm track. Starfucker: I really like Studio Blues. Nice guitar playing man! Are you the one singing lead? If so, very cool voice man! Love the organ playing too. Darn it, I love everything about it! Dang, y'all both are slammin'! Kim
  7. Thanks Dan!! My mom loves Sista Breeze too. It's one of my better songs I've done so far! The sequencing program that I'm using is Cakewalk Home Studio 2002. I'll edit it (for the one thousandth time--LOL) and change the drums to an acoustic kit or acoustic drum loop because I don't know any drummers. Thanks again Dan! Kim

  16. Roland, "Oops, sorry, I guess the Bosendorfer should be under analog keyboards, so I'll have to take that one off your list." That's okay, man. You can leave it on (LOL)

  19. Hi, Thanks Soapbox and DanSouth for welcoming me! So Soapbox, you use to live in Madison, eh? Kewl! My unlce use to live in Madison (ole Badger-head!) and graduated from the university there as well. Erpeewee--REASON SOFTWARE: I've never used a sampler (or any of the other features for that matter) before so it's gonna take me some time to figure out how to "correctly" operate it. So far, I can't figure out the midi function yet. I've bought it only a week ago. Hell, I can't get Virtual Sound Canvas soft synth to function correctly in Home Studio 2002 and haven't attempted to use Dream Station yet!! Oh well, no love loss though. I'll figure it out sooner or later. I'll post here if I need some quick tips from ya, okay? PEACE! Kim
  20. Hi All, I'm new to this forum. Not that I'm totally new. I've just never logged in, that's all. HeHee!! My name is Kim (any other females on this board???) and I'm 28 years old as of yesterday. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I use to fool around with sequencing on my old Mac IIsi and Cakewalk Metro 4 using a Casio CTK-611 keyboard about two years ago--never really done anything worthwhile or have taken seriously. I'm not a Music Editor, Programmer, Producer, Sound Engineer, Remixer, Film Director or anything like that (one can dream). One day, some day! Been playing the piano off and on (more off than on) since the age of seven. I still can't sit and play the keys and read sheet music at the same time, so I just play by ear. I'm no pro though, but I do alright with what I do know how to play-- C H O R D S. Now, I'm serious about music and been studying at the Conservatory for a year. So far, I've taken courses in Songwriting with Steve Grimm, learning more about MIDI with Melanie Fries, Beginner's Jazz Piano with Mark Davis, a semester of Beginning Voice with Kathleen Matts, and a semester worth of Music theory with John Babbitt. So, I'm still learning a lot of things, things that I should've known by now if I'd hadn't given music up in the first place. Stupid, stupid, stupid!! Stuff I'm using now: *Alesis QS6.1 keyboard *QCards--Hip Hop and Techno,Rap,Dance (will get more soon) *Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine (bought it used and rarely use it) *Ensoniq Mirage (bought it used and never used it) *A five-week old AMD 1.4G, 40G HD, Sound Blaster Audigy sound card, and 256MB Memory PC *Cakewalk Home Studio 2002 w/Fruity Loops Express (I love both softwares) *Propellerhead Reason (haven't used it yet) *Acid Xpress 3.0 (haven't used it yet) *Midiman 2X2 USB Midi interface *Fostex VF08 Digital Multitrack (collecting dust) *Tascam 414mkII (using the mixer portion of it for now) *Digitech Vocalist VR (haven't used it yet) *Yamaha multimedia speakers w/sub-woofer Well, I guess that's about it for now...
