  1. I would like to hear it anyway
  2. Many thanks everyone, I am glad you liked it.
  3. I thought I would share the reharm I did today with you all. 'for all we know' audio - or video ...
  4. time remembered almost the whole melody (minus the 1st line) played rather fast (it is alluding to how fast time passes us by, that is the hidden meaning)
  5. Thanks guys, if you like it it means I must be doing something right. It is up on youtube now so if anyone wants to watch me waggle my fingers .... The audio sounds much better on divshare though, I dont know what youtube does to the sound but I don't like it. If you guys didn't get the quote that probably means it is un-gettable which I quite like really. It is amazing how playing notes out of context can render them completely unrecognizable. I think I may experiment some more with that idea. I have always liked the idea of hiding some structure in a piece.
  6. Marino, love your version of I dont know, fantabulous harmonies.
  7. So I tried another tune A tribute for the 30th anniversary of Bill Evans, my attempt at Very early What a tune, a masterpiece, but it is hard. For the die hard Evans fans I include a rather out of context quote towards the end, so bonus points if anyone can spot it. http://www.divshare.com/download/12598419-5d4 Thanks Roger for putting up the link to my last youtube effort. This one will be up there fairly shortly.
  8. SK, that is a great version. I love your relaxed approach to the tune but was very disappointed not to hear your solo. Do you have a trio album out?
  9. I was having a go at 'you dont know what love is' today. Such a great tune. Not really much of a reharm as I didn't really go far from the original changes, but i thought I would post it anyway as things are a bit slow on this thread http://www.divshare.com/download/12557613-2b9 anyone got some more radical reharm for this one?
  10. Thanks guys, glad you liked my tune. Carlos wow your impro was great, loved it. Amazing fluency in your playing. I am so into doing free improvisation at the moment, every day I do at least an hour just on that. I find it amazing that when I try to play without having any idea of what is coming next the ideas just seem to pop out of nowhere.
  11. This thread is a bit quiet so I thought I would post something to stop it dying. Listening to everyones music is one of the main things that brings me back to this forum occasionally. Anyway... http://www.divshare.com/download/12002511-73f Not exactly reharm as it is purely improvised, but it does have harmony in it.
  12. Thanks SK, It's strange as I've never really enjoyed playing my romance before, its always been one of my 'oh no do we have to?' tunes, despite always having loved the Evans version. And then suddenly I felt like playing it. I've never played porkpiehat until this week either, I have always thought of it as being kind of sacred in an untouchable way. Its great to play though, what a tune. And thanks Roger for your kind comments.
  13. Thanks Marino, yes I do play some bass, although I don't play it much these days. Nobody wants electric bass, I can understand why. I am so happy with my new piano, it such a joy to play after the awful ones I've had before. I guess it won't be long before I stop appreciating it and find some slight niggles that wind me up. For my next reharm I'll do something with a bit more of me and a bit less Evansy, when I get round to it.
  14. I was having a go at Goodbye Pork pie hat today... http://www.divshare.com/download/10517514-9d4 Nothing too radical reharm wise, I tried to stick more or less to the basic harmony, I just elaborated on it a little The solo section isn't really happening but I quite like the double diminished chords towards the end. Its a fantastic tune to play. And, as a tribute to the all time master of reharm, Bill Evans, here is a bit of My Romance. You can't improve on perfection so I played pretty much its as close to Bills reharm as I could manage. The solo is a one take job so plenty of dodgy bits. http://www.divshare.com/download/10517409-0e9 I just got a new piano, well I say new but it is actually 30 years old, Yamaha C5. How does it sound? (a bit out of tune at the very top I know, it hasnt been tuned yet).
  15. Wow, I loved the juicy harmony in Quiet Now. Crammed full of interesting ideas and rich sounds. Very inspiring. Thanks
