  1. Steve, That version of when summer turns to snow just knocks me out! Who knew you were so sensitive?? ;-)
  2. I agree w/ Legatoboy, Richard. I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm has got some really nice creative integrity.
  3. cnegrad, You took Waltz for Debbie to a really unexpected place for me. I found it interesting and enjoyable.
  4. Steve, This is your most well formulated version of WCITT. Each one of your successive versions has gone deeper. There is a calmness to this version that I particularly like. Marino, thanks for the kind words on Easy to Love. I have looked at your arrangement of it, which is a tour de force of reharmonization. Great stuff. Here is a quick submission of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. This is not performance level playing, but just sharing some ideas of where I might want to take it when I get serious about rethinking this song - I have never tried to reharm it before. I guess I have avoided it because it is so common. http://www.divshare.com/download/4175284-81b
  5. Richard W., Your WCITT subs are as creative as it gets. You completely changed the flow. Your version has made me rethink what this song can be. Thanks. Tom (7notemode)
  6. Dave, The Giant Steps variation is sophisticated and restrained. There is something in your playing that reminds me of Geoffrey Keezer, but just in this piece. The Who Can I Turn To recording is what I think of as your quintessential style, calm, California-cool and intellectually ambitious. It works solo very well, but you can hear it begging for the trio treatment. Here is a link to Who Can I Turn To that I did as an homage to Bill Evans' style a while back.
  7. Steve, I go out of town for two lousy weeks, and you start the best thread ever while I'm gone! I have tried to get up to speed, but the amount of work you guys have done is overwhelming. Quality is brilliant. One thing that caught my attention was the Easy to Love contributions. I look forward to going over Marino's Easy to Love pdf, which looks amazing. In the meantime, I just sat down and did this version of it - quick and dirty, hope you don't mind. http://www.divshare.com/download/4175279-ff5
  8. Thanks for the kind words leber_wurst,C.Bull, Bloodsample,CliffK. I don't play out much, so its nice to get positive feedback. I posted a couple of new tunes on YouTube, Dolphin Dance on acoustic piano, and Route 66 done on Roland 700SX using Jazz Scat, which is a hilarious patch done solo, IMO. Link is below on signature line.
  9. YouTube Video's I uploaded these tunes today. This is acoustic piano solo jazz improvisation. Comments and ratings welcome. Please be kind to a fellow keyboard forum member! http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=7notemode
  10. This is a Comparison of Ivory 1.5 Steinway and Roland 700SX Superior Grand patch. Hello All, I am a long time lurker who recently registered. I have gotten a lot from the forum, so in turn I thought I would post something useful. I recorded the same song twice, once using Ivory, the other time using the 700SX. It is NOT the same MIDI file recorded with different patches. I find that I play differently depending on the patch that I am using, so switching patches using the same MIDI file just doesn't make for a good comparison IMO. This piece is very busy and pianistic, but I wanted to play the patch like a "real" piano for comparison's sake. I hope you find it interesting. Also I just opened a soundclick account. I hope the link works. I am registered at soundclick under 7notemode. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=601831
