  1. I thought this one looked interesting, and cheap... VMAI Sound Bar... they claim 90 watts total and 110 dB max SPL... even assuming it's nowhere near that, if it just reaches into the 90s in SPL, it would be fine. WHether it has any latency (via direct connection) would be a question...

I bought the VMAI for my Dexibell S1 cart that"s in my living room. It"s got 1/8' stereo in. I adjusted the dsp to music, works well and seems like it"s expensive.

  2. Just to distinguish it from the more recent KP-500S which the folks at MS told me had other upgrades over the years. I have a SN which Ive lived using for 10 years or so until I just purchased a 612.

I tried to contact MS one time about the background hiss of my 500SN, but did not get a response. Does the new one cut better in a mix?

  3. Ive had the 612 for two weeks and its awesome. I was using a 500 but it was one of the first (a SN) and theres no comparison between the two, especially in the acoustic piano dept. Real clear with lots of overtone distinction. Ive been getting great comments on the authenticity of my Leslie sim through it (Vent) as well. Strongly recommended!

Why is the SN version of the 500 referenced?

    I have it.

  4. Give me Tove Lo (the top vid) all day - simply Beautiful.

A Gorgeous singer at the front always helps big time ;-), sweeet keyboards :). (only complaint is, the bass is too loud)

Almost nothing going on in the lower vid , and yes it was a pain.

I had never heard of either of them, just wanted to defend talent

  5.

I would guess only 3 percent of musicians are really really up there... but that's just my guess!

Mozart...Bach, Bird, whoever - for sure!

Taylor Swift and Prince are 3 percenters too based on their work. IMO

  6. Other examples of can't-quite-put-my-finger-on-why mediocrity are the recent bunch of endorser videos on the Nord website. I intended to post this in a separate thread with the title "Mediocre musicians play Nord".

Keyboardist playing a pad (and lead that is not discernible in the sequenced mix) but making a heavily concentrating face, while the camera is carefully positioned so that the drummer is not visible behind the singer:

And another band that doesn't know how to look (clothes, faces etc.), with the bassist hiding behind the horns:

I like both of these more than toto.
