  3. aww, i feel loved. it's great to be talking to you guys again! i wish i could have made it to BPL '07, but rest assured i'll try to make it to the next one. <3 those things!
  4. hey guys! i want to be around more. i'm like hm...who can i ask about stuff... oh yeah, my best buddies ever! so here's a little update---i'm really into the school of rock, my goal being the all-star team this summer. i finally have a few silly little videos: here's the cool one: this was on the local morning news....some shots of me, my boss, and my buddies, but mostly the little kids. the cuteness is a huge factor, le sigh. they didn't stick around to film our rehearsal, which was later, but this is a great vid anyway: http://www.myfoxboston.com/myfox/pages/Home/Detail;jsessionid=E44C6A9C822F863B8C68E7B879873FB7?contentId=4952530&version=2&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=1.1.1&sflg=1 and here's some improv we did around the holidays: http://youtube.com/watch?v=0K6H3OH9mRw yes, that is a shopping mall we're playing in. glad to be back! for good.
  5. hahah well actually, it has. i felt my previous avatar didn't reflect me as well as this one. it's like...the essence of me.
  6. I'm very fond of his playing. I learned a great deal from his Martian Love Secrets column in Guitar Player many years ago. I think his sense of humour comes across in his playing - he is not beyond self-mockery. I've read that column online. He's a very smart guy, I love his approach.
  7. I'm going to see him in Boston, EVO tix yeah! but honestly I'd go twice. It's not typical of a bass player but I love Vai. PS Phil I think Steve and Paul are nice for the colors of the bass.....and I thought about people I know and great musicians with those names too.
  8. IiiiIiIIiIi GOTTTTT AN AMERICAN SERIES JAZZ BASS! In sunburst. Possible names are: Steve or Paul. I love it a lot! I will post pictures when I can.
  9. Guess what? Easter is my birthday this year! I'm 13! I'm having a really weird weekend cause great stuff happens then really bad stuff happens, like I'm getting birthday wishes from Billy Sheehan and going to G3 and then my parents are like talking about lawyers and custody and s**t but I'm having a good time for the most part, so much is happening at once... Is it a crime if I just went to G3 for Satch?
  10. Thanks guys, it's cool having my dad nearby and for some reason this makes my mom cook more often which I love. I hope to get the Mockingbird back soon so I can take some pictures. Oh and also I've been researching a lot into a new little practice amp and also a fretted bass to replace my Thunderbird, which I'm selling to a friend. Planning on having a good talk with my friend Mr. Tony Franklin from Fender tomorrow, cause I think what I want is a Jazz or something Jazz-based. Plus I don't know if I mentioned this, but I'm buying my drummer's old kit and she will get me cymbals for my birthday because she's getting a new kit for hers. Sweet deal! Yup, just like Daisy. (And thank you!)(If it's good). I like it better with people knowing how to spell my name and not how to pronounce it than the other way around, because they can't be too far off. I've gotten like "Maze" and "Massy" and stuff; often people think it's "Maizy" or something.
  11. So I told the guys at the guitar forum, but not you guys because we didn't have this thread at the time: my parents told me not too long ago that they are getting divorced, leading to my father getting a house a block away, leading to him having this lady help him decide what goes in the rooms and whatever they do, and the lady's husband (also doing said job) is a bass player. Who has a 1970's American B.C. Rich Mockingbird. And who lent it to me because he doesn't play it and he wants me to fix it up a little. YESS. Well boo about my parents but sweet bass! It's just about mint. I'm having the pots cleaned up a little and I've already polished the crap out of it, just need to get some steel wool for the frets.
  12. Hey everybody, I'm back and I think we should have one of these, just like the guitar forum. It's for basically anything that doesn't merit its own topic and general conversation.
