  1. Don't like it for Taters reasons. Name usually is the toughest thing to agree on and like. I know, both groups I am in.. WildTime (we are neither 'wild' or on 'time') and Take3 (there are 4 of us in the group) It sounds to me that it takes 3 tries to get anything started. I do like "The Set Up", its easy to say, remember and repeat!
  2. Dang TImR, I thought I spilled a bunch of yellow bean bag fill on my screen. I am sitting here in the middle of the night, got a daytime 4th gig and I have had a sinus infection for the last week. I am on my 3 day of amoxacillen for 10 day. Coughing in what seems 5 second intervals. Not breaking any of it up. Throat and head is pounding, drinking and gargling EVERY concoction known to man with no relief. Oh, and I am "scheduled" to be singing tomorrow as well.... we will see about that one. Phew... Happy 4th to all! Brocko
  3. Moving is one of the most enlightening experienced anyone will ever have. Realizing that you've accumulated CRAP you never knew you had and don't know what to do with it. Kudos on your move and new place Dave, find the local pub, get pissed and consummate every room in the house!!
  4. Rosa, GAS is an acronym for; Gear Acquisition Syndrome Even with todays medical advancements there is really no known cure for this sometimes wonderful disease. Clicky Here for a Good History
  5. Naw Paul, not like you are trying to get him to deposit millions into an american account but need him to send you $2000 for fees. Why waste YOUR time by putting an ad in and then get a response and oh, when I get around to it. ?!?WTF?!? Idiots, isn't there a boat for them or something?
  6. Why, why WHY do club owners expect the band to bring in a huge number of people to THEIR club??? We had 7-10 people show up last night and there was maybe 20 people in the bar. Maybe because they have no SIGNAGE at the street. The lighted road marquee had the single word WILDTIME (my band) only on one side. (I asked.."we don't have anymore letters" was my answer) What does that word mean to anyone?? I would have rather seen "LIVE BAND". That would have given a clue. And they wonder why??? We got paid our fee for the night. But it just amazes me the BS. well we are tighter as a group with that paid 'rehearsal' so I cannot complain anymore than I have. Phew RANT over! Brocko
  7. well SPK, the world can breathe easy now that you have joined the Irons. You'll make Eddie proud. Phil (7699), who makes un-necessary posts?
  8. Great to see ya back and very cool to see what you have been up to.
  9. There can only be ONE!! HHHIIIIGGGGHHHHLLLAAANNNDDDDERRRRR!!! http://www.sallys-place.com/food/single-articles/blue_M&M.jpg
  10. Not lately, but my wife and I have a habit of hiding in various places and leaping out at each other. We call that foreplay And G.- that's gonna leave a mark!
  11. First things first... Phil nice AB, I've got a Wasburn AB-20, had it for a few years and love it. I think the flats will definately give you a little loss in sound unfortunately. I've found as soon as you get a g****r or someone talking you are gonna need a lttle amplification to get heard... NOW... to my off topic... Gigged last night, wore my HALF Zaftig TEE which took ALL the ATTENTION away from my playing, thank you very much. But at this point I must regress..... I own. operate, struggle along, with my own business. I work at home, in my studio, on my computer, on the road.. i.e. everywhere. Earlier this week I was in the basement working on the computer and my business cell phone rings. I've got the tunes jamming working away, by no means being quiet. I look and it is my girlfriend calling who was earlier sleeping (upstairs). She is asking what I am doing and we talk. As this is happening I walk upstairs to greet her. Again, I am not being quiet or sneaking. I walk into the bedroom to continue the conversation and the horror of world comes over her face, screams like I am Micheal Meyers er something (OT I saw the new Rob Zombie "Halloween". I thought it was great!). She calms down.. I am laughing... she is mad at me! Okay, Told you that story so I could tell you this; I get home from the gig last night. Long, not a big crowd, kinda blah. As I pull in Boston's "Smokin'" is on the radio.. I love that song.. Listen to the solo section and get out. Meanwhile I see a little spider on my windshield. Amazed at tiny creatures I look from my birds eye view through the windshield at the spiders determind plan of whatever it is. Get out, thinking how much I "LOVE" loadout and transferin the gear into the house... I walk around the front of the van and there it is... on the ground in front of me. A 4-5 ft snake.. what kind? I have no clue.. big head the size of my fist. Mouth open looking at me. Well, I jump across the hood of the van. I am sure it looked more like a convuoltion (sp) more than anything. Sprank my ankle a little and wondering why I am not in this things mouth for his/her late evening snack. SOOOOOO, after I shove my heart back in my chest, I look to see a nice little Halloween prop sitting perfectly in the path of my travel to the house. Normally I would have seen it, said "How cute" and continued on with my doings. Perfect situation and timing, my mind was somewhere else, other than up my arse. I calmly entered the house and proceeded to attack my girlfriend laying in bed snickering under the covers.... oh, how I LOVE her!! "it is on.... it is SOOO on!" Have great weekend people, anyone scare or get the poo scared out of them lately? Brocko
  12. Well, Kramer & Trucks both give the thumbs up, so if anyone, uh, hypothetically had a good looking violinist in their band they would be okay to date them. Nutt, make it informal, like this thread. You are both single? And she made the first advances?? Don't you have friends there to kick you in the..... well.... nutt? Yeah, go ahead see how it works out.. you can always use the "I'd hate for the band to suffer if it don't work out bit if you wanna bail from the relationship." I think that it would be fine. She sure is.
  13. Why is that the people that SHOULD NOT wear spandex be the most PROUD to walk out into the world that way? eeewwwww!! I should have saved my $70 from the whale watching tour and stay at the beach this weekend. *shudder*
  14. Monty Python is British humor.. not this! And Benny Hill for that matter.
  15. Well, I got through it, I didn't say I nailed it! heh I start reheasal tomorrow (Sunday) for Joseph and the amazing technoid color'd dreamcoat for a local Community Theater. Music is okay, the show is corny. If the costumes are anything like the DVD I hope that they were VERY selective on the cast! Spandex is not a right, it's a PRIVILEDGE!! Going from playing Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater stuff to this is a BIG jump but my reading is getting better each day.
  16. Yeah... keep at it! If it is something that gives you pleasure, why stop? I'm busier now more than ever and tippin in at *cough* 40. I wish that I realized my love for playing 10 years ago. It's addictive. I've always loved playing, don't get me wrong. I just never looked for players and always was a bedroom player to an extent. Hold onto the stuff, maybe.... MAYBE streamline your gear a little. Just look for some new players that might inspire you to start playing metal! heh I just sight read "Girl from Ipanema" last night for the first time in a big band rehearsal. HA! My Dad would have NEVER guessed that I would play that tune let alone even like it! Stay strong Bass Brother!
  17. The Yamaha looks like it is the most versital but I do like the PV10. You'll be kicking yourself later if you need that extra. I don't think you can beat the pricing on any of them... even.. *cough* the Behringer <---- last desperate, dying resort.
  18. ArrrggggHHH! where is my soapbox... Oh there it is!... *A-hem* Did a gig last night for a double wedding shower, Jack n Jill or whatever you call it. We did some 'dinner music' stuff the first set then mixed it up as we usually do from current/popular stuff to the motown, classic rock, Top 40 all the usual suspects. People; namely one female kept on coming up cryin/whinnin'/complaining asking if we were going to do any 'modern, current' songs?!?! (Best thing was the dance floor was packed with her friends, young and old and she never danced all night...hhmm.... and she came and left alone too! That must tell ya something.) We'd ask her what she wanted to hear and never got a name or group just modern music "Cuz I know there are old people here, but there are young people that want to dance." I am thinking about making a shower curtain enclosure for me with a backlight to be left alone. But I am sure some will stick their head in to ask if we are going to play any FiddyCent or the 'new' JayZ tune. Phil, I will take over your cancellations from this point on. Maisie, clappin' for your Jazz! I'm catching Vai down in Providence this coming October. If you are going let me know, I can provide security for you so no one will mob ya! Brocko
  19. Okay.... anyone have any idea how long it took that guy to do the drum kit vid that Phil posted? Just great! Thanks for the links Phil.. I am still fresh off the cable modem turnip truck and loving it!
  20. Look how stingey Phil is.. the one bloke/mate (trying to make you feel at home phil is sharing his g****r with the rest of the guys and there is Phil... being a HOG with his WAL... Look at that protective stance like he's gonna have to run to the Pharmacy for some Penicilin(sp) if any of them touch it. Jeez... I'm working with a Blues player and a drummer (ala Hendrix; White guy rhythm section with a black Lead n singer) Learning the tunes now and having fun. The leader (nana nana nana nana "LLEEAADDERR" ~ to BATMAN theme) wants the songs to be 'tight' which kind of goes against my blues knowledge. I thought more of being laid back. I think he just wants the tunes down and clean and to not be sloppy. Its a good twist. My main 'cover' group has been having subs sit in. couple keyboards n last week a sax player. We push all the rock n roll stuff on him that we could. heh He did a great job and we had a good time entertaining the crowd. Pulled out Hot ROd Lincoln and had dancers rippin away! Tried to make it as exciting as Phils but fell WAY short!!
