Used the new SS3 for the first "get to know each other" jam for a new band that is forming. The 3D effect was evident and it was compliments all around. The Kurzweil Rhodes/Wurli EP's seemed to suffer a lot when I used my EV ZLX-12Ps, but with the SS3 they sounded great.

I just ordered an SS3. I only hesitated because I am in a southern rock tribute band that plays outdoor festivals and has extremely loud stage volumes. However, I just signed up for a mellow martini lounge act and figured the SS3 would shine.
I still dislike rehearsing with my EV powered speakers for most of my electric and acoustic piano patches, even after lots and lots of tweaking.

I am waiting patiently for the Roland JD-Xi and the Akai Advance 61 controller, both rolled out at the NAMM show and both due this spring.

Ok I'll start off - though it is an instrumental.

P.S. Welcome Chris!

hey everyone,
i like the vibe here, heard some really nice songs and thought i would drop in and say hello.
I'm a full-time electrical engineers who designs avionics for large jets (777,747,767,a300,etc).
I did try to "make it" as a musician years ago with an alternative rock band. we won the "snickers new music search", got some airplay, great mgt.. a development deal from island records and then it all went south (in-fighting).
now i just dabble and i cant sing a lick. i play bass and keys.. well..then all that's left is happy new year..cheers

Any love for Kurzweil Artis 7?

I have been using an Artis7 as my top board for 2 years. Mine exhibited the white noise issue (4 times) until I got a power conditioner about a 1.5 years ago. I have no issues with the editor. I use multis to store songs patches and sometimes have up to 4 splits. The pitch bend started getting wacky a month ago. The connector to the main board went bad.
I am used to the action, it actually is "fast" when you get used to it. Overall I have a positive view of this board, it compliments my CP40 very well.
