  1. I'll bite. Who is he and why don't we care.

(Probably a well known due in classical circles and my lack of culture is showing again.)

That is the organist, orchestra and concert I played the other day that I was talking about a few posts ago.

I guess I didn't see that post Davio. It was a good review though. It must be pretty cool to work with a large group like that. It would be fun to hear you.

  2. I don't get out much to hear or play music besides playing in church, but went out last Sunday to a Honky Tonk and Blues Jam hosted by a friend of mine. The venue is a small town country store that also serves food and liquor.

I got to play about 10 tunes with some old friends and played with 2 drummers I hadn't met before. It was fun and I was well recieved. Since this is only the 2nd time I've played in a bar in 10 years, I think I'll reserve some time to do this again, because it got me wanting to play out some more.

  3. Why, why WHY do club owners expect the band to bring in a huge number of people to THEIR club???

We had 7-10 people show up last night and there was maybe 20 people in the bar.

Maybe because they have no SIGNAGE at the street. The lighted road marquee had the single word WILDTIME (my band) only on one side. (I asked.."we don't have anymore letters" was my answer)

What does that word mean to anyone?? I would have rather seen "LIVE BAND". That would have given a clue.

And they wonder why??? We got paid our fee for the night. But it just amazes me the BS. well we are tighter as a group with that paid 'rehearsal' so I cannot complain anymore than I have.

    Phew RANT over!

Many bar owners are just knuckleheads. There are a some who are true businessmen, but alot of them are just alcoholics or coke-heads and use the bar as a way to support their habit. My $.02 worth.

  4. Hi Maise. How was your summer?

Last night we went to a bonfire and weenie roast at a friends' home. They live out in the country, with a broad view of the stars. We had a very nice time. There was a HUGE bonfire, food, and fellowship. It was cool and crisp last night, which I enjoy, but I kinda hate to see summer coming to an end.

  5. Revenge would be mine. Oh, I'd ask nicely to rectify the situation at first then I'd let the full forces of gravity to my advantage. I'd probably enlist the help of some seagulls too.

    You're my hero.

I have never understood karaoke. Even if I was drunk I wouldn't want to do it.
