Hey,my name is Paul Bergman ,39 years old and playing since I was 7. I'm lurking here for a few years, and thought it would be time for a short introduction.
Started out with organ lessons, practiced on an old piano.Later switched to (classical)piano lessons and studied piano & keyboards at the conservatory.I lived right across a music shop so gas was always present.
Owned a lot of gear, always wanted a piano with a synth on top, so my first "rig" was a Hohner pianet with a Yamaha CS-01 on top, can you imagine how cute that looks?
Was replaced by a Rhodes and a korg poly 800, and was a proud owner of a Rhodes Chroma at 17(great machine when it was working)
After my study started playing professional (top 40 band)
Owned most of the regular romplers (01w, jv 80,Triton, xv 88, equinox, xp 30)
Musical hero's: Prince, Yellowjackets, Harry Connick, Ben Folds, Ramsey Lewis, James Booker, Richard Tee, Steve Winwood, Billy Preston.
Besides regular gigging I'm a music teacher.
My current rig exists of a Nord Stage 76 (love the pianosound!!) a Fantom X6 with the brass/orchestral/ultimate keys and studio SRX board, an Alesis Micron for my "analog" needs,and also play accordion (Hohner Starlet, Concerto and a Lucia)My pleasure reading here, and I will try to post here more often for keeping the discussions alive.
