  1. Wednesday night we did a 8PM to 4PM studio gig. Got three songs done (at least the bed tracks). Went back today for vox. It turned out very well. Hope to have audio soon. One of the guitar players and the drummer went to work without any sleep! The sun was up when I got home. Arg!
  2. well, where else should i announce that i've bought a new car, and that i'm very excited for it?

my wife was in accident on valentine's day -- she's ok -- but it caused the airbags to make an appearance. and when you drive ten-year-old cars like we do, that usually means it's time for a new car. so we sold our 1996 honda accord to the insurance company the following week.

i've been in the market for about a month, with a budget capped at $5,000. you'd think it'd be hard to find a decent car at that price, but i've managed to locate a 2001 VW golf GLS 1.8T with just over 100,000 miles on it (about 161,000km). i'm pretty excited about it.

    Very cool!!! :thu:

  3. Mmmm... nothing says good eatin' like offal! Tasty though I'm sure the Aussie pies are, I think I'll stick to good old American Pie.

I think you'll find that the quality of the meat in "good old American pie" is not much better. Unless, of course, the article I read a couple of years ago in Vanity Fair was complete BS. Oh, and didn;t you guys have all those mad cow thingie problems back in the 90s?

Ain't no meat in American pie

Cow pies are sooooooo much better than Aussie pies.

    Jonathan

So you obviously haven't tried Aussie pies.

I can't help thinking about Revenge of the Nerds, "Hair pie,... Hair pie!"

  5. Depends on the cheese. You ought not to eat, say, a double cream brie or other soft rind cheese while playing the jazz bass, or any other bass for that matter. Hard cheeses are just too crumbly. I'd stick with a semi-soft, mild-flavored cheese, like an Edam, Gouda, Swiss or Jarlsburg while playing the jazz bass. For P basses I prefer a nice English country or Welsh herb cheese.

Now this OT thread is officially OT! :thu:

  6. It's 1:00am and I'm not long back from a decent gig in Ashby - the Greyhound Hotel.

I'm getting my head round the stuff now & relaxing a bit more. Enjoyment is creeping in.......spooky!!!

    :)

Ha! I knew you would get around to it!!! :thu:

  7. Myles, I have a pro junior. Stock tubes. What can I get to put into it that will clean the tone up slightly. I play at 4.2 or 4.25 max most of the time.

New question, How hard would it be to set up both sets of tubes (new clean, old drity) with a switch to switch between them?

    Thanks, Red
