  1. Sort of being a late convert. I've owned a CP73 for 9 months now, and like some of the Rhodes EPs and its portability factor. But: bad organs, and decent though less inspiring APs than the Nords Piano Library offerings. But now, I've discovered the possibilities of having an USB midi and audio interface. For EUR 45, I bought both the iOS versions of VB3m by GSI and MKSensation Extreme, put them onto my iPad Pro (2018) which always accompanies me on gigs (mainly jazz, sometimes pop/soul/funk covers) because of ForScore. Using a simple USB-C to USB-A-adapter (Apple brand, EUR 25) and a simple printer USB-A to USB-B cable, I upgraded the CP73 with lots of useful sounds. Now, Grandpa has entered the iPerformance domain, and this offers a huge plus for every master keyboard instrument that has USB-audio/MIDI-interface. 1 (adapter + ) cable, no hassle. Whohooh! Especially cool on a pretty portable instrument which has good to great APs and EPs as well. And fine master keyboard features, for instance pitch bend and modulation levers. (Would have preferred wheels, though). Studiologic (Numa Piano X) and Yamaha (and some newer Rolands?) have hit a spot for me, by including such USB midi+audio interface functionality. If I were Clavia/Nord, I'd introduce MIDI ánd audio over USB as well... Let the iExploration commence! :) (does anyone know of a double manual organ (controller) which offers MIDI and audio over USB as well?)
  2. Your Precious Love (Marvin Gaye, but I have a soft spot for Randy Crawford)
  3. I must have missed something pretty obvious: a dedicated button for this purpose. Thanks to , I found out...
  4. Couldn't find it in the manual or paramater list: can the audio output of the internal speakers of the RD-88 be muted, whilst the output out of the 1/4" output socket(s) remains to be sent?
  5. The last Genesis tour I went to see was the "Abacab" tour. There were some great moments that night, including Tony Banks giving us a lovely rendition of ". . . Slippermen", but the newer, Pop tunes sounded out of place, and I was done after that. Phil Collins came out with a Trumpet he used solely as a prop during . . . I honestly can't recall the name of that hit tune, and won't make myself seem smarter than I am by looking it up? It had the Tower of Power Horn section playing on the original recording, I remember that much. I kept listening to Hackett and Gabriel long after I gave up on Collins' version of Genesis. I never heard anything from the brief effort by Rutherford and Banks to re-form as a duo in the 90's? I know there was an album, I just never heard anything from it. That was probably "No reply at all" they performed. No TOP, but EWF, IIRC. Back OT again: let's see where this leads to. I actually dug the 2007 Tour (based on recording/video footage), esp. the variety of song material (as opposed to the WCD tour).
  6. Paich and Jeff did their Steely Dan-thing in the seventies (granted: Gaucho = 1980). Does a Steely Dan-credit in itself qualify for some sort of a 'Wrecking Crew' status? I'd say so. Monsters.
  7. Saw a gig in the same series(Utrecht, The Netherlands; missed the support act, though). They brought the entire We Like It Here album back home to Kytopia city. It was a joy to attend.
  8. Saw Never Say Never Again's score criticized before, but I liked and like the music. Both theme song and several other parts. Maybe a soft spot for a somewhat smooth early 80s era vibe.
  9. Tough call... * Living Daylights - 1st one in cinema for me * From Russia With Love Liked Moore's Bond less, relatively speaking.
  10. Well then, let's introduce myself: I'm a 24 year old piano/keyboard player from the Netherlands. No pro, but certainly no beginner either. My main activity (besides my regular work) is playing live in cover bands. I own a Roland RS9, a Yamaha S30 and a Nord Electro 2 Rack. I did own a Yamaha P80 (action was too heavy) and a JV1010 (which I traded for the S30) and am considering to buy a Roland RD700. Musical influences/taste: jazz, fusion (Yellowjackets), pop. Keyboard heroes: Russel Ferrante, Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Kenny Kirkland. But Wakeman can play as well
