  1. The mods aren't identified. But, Caev did add a lot of folks. I do see that you created the group on Jan 8, 2016. Look under "Groups" on your Facebook and you should see it there unless you left the group at some point in time. BTW, the group is inactive. The last post was in August 2021.
  2. In 1989, I caught them live with Metal Church and W.A.S.P. in a small club called, "The Flaming Mug", in Fayetteville, NC. This was when I was stationed at Pope Air Force Base, NC. As you can imagine, this was a really great show! 🤘 Other acts I caught at The Flaming Mug were Bang Tango, George Thorogood, Metal Church- two more times, Savatage, Britny Fox, Steelheart, RTZ, BTO, Badlands, Kansas, Ugly Kid Joe, Animal Bag, and a few others I am likely forgetting.
  3. It's best not to give any company like this your phone number. It's none of their business. And if you're required to input a phone number, just make one up. I always go with my area code then 555-1212. I once had a cashier ask for my phone number. I told her that was private. She then said she could not proceed with the sale unless she had a number to enter. I then said, "Well, then you had better make one up." Frustrated, she put in whatever number it was. Once these companies get your number, then you usually end up on all sorts of calling lists. Or, in the very least, they bug the heck out of you. Therefore, keep your number to yourself. Protect it as you would your SS#.
  4. I like it. I actually listened to "Get The Knack" recently. My big brother owned the album. So, I grew up listening to it.
  5. I like the dark theme. Less strain on my eyes. 👍

    Get Back

I also loved the series. The only thing that annoyed me was Yoko's constant presence in the studio.
  7. I still have my GSP 21 Pro. I bought it around 1990-91, whenever it was when it first came out. It's been racked since around 93. Works just fine.
  8. Have blessed Thanksgiving, brothers and sisters!
  9. I need to get him on the case to find my beloved strat (I bought circa 1987) that was stolen in Charleston, SC in 2000. I'm still offering a $2,000 reward for its safe return in good condition. - Serial #E622068 - 1986 MIJ Fender Contemporary Standard 22 - Maple neck & fretboard - 22 frets - Black w/ white pickguard - 1 Humbucker - 2 Single Coils - Tremolo Click For Photo
  10. As we grow older, our favorites are getting even older. Unfortunately, we are in a period of our lives where they will seem to be passing on left and right. Although they weren't all attributed to "old age" ailments, we lost three within metal/rock this past week. Some well-known, some lesser-known. But, they were rockers nonetheless. First it was Mike Howe. Then Joey Jordison. Now Dusty. Rest easy, fellas. ~Peace
  11. It's hard to believe I've been on here for nearly 18 years. But, it's nice to see that a lot of regulars, such as yourself, continue to pop in.
  12. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! God Bless
  13. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
  14. Drums were my first love. I remember banging on pot and pans with butter knives, and Dad's 5-gallon buckets (before they were plastic). Although my parents could never afford to buy me a real set of drums, I did get a couple of "toy" sets, to include a rather decent one from Sears. But, they did not last long at all. As most kids who were into drums, my favorite song to hear played live at a wedding was "Wipe Out." I did play percussion in band... 6th grade through 10th, then I quit band. Then in 1983, a rock band came to our school. Maybe they came to yours too? They were known as "Free Fare" or "Freedom Jam." (They both came, but I don't recall which was first.) When I heard the opening riffs of "Metal Health" played live, I was hooked. That was the moment I became interested in guitar. While searching the web for info about these bands, I found this post by one of the former members: Peace

  16. Like a lot of you, I've been buying from Musician's Friend since the late 80's. Although I still do business with them from time to time, the majority of my shopping is with Sweetwater. I've never had an issue with Sweetwater... or even Musician's Friend that I can recall. Both are fantastic businesses with competitive prices. Now, if only Musician's Friend would follow Sweetwater's lead and add candy with every shipped order...
  17. Although I am unaware of such a trend currently, I bet one day there will be a "purist" trend within the guitar world to return to all analog when it comes to effects. Although I do not belong to any such groups, "purist" groups must certainly exist within our community and social media.
  18. @CEB and Larry... Thank you for the input! I'll either sell it or simply consider it a collectible and store it alongside my mint condition vintage Digitech Whammy WH-1. I'm not hard up for the cash. Haven't been since the late 80's, early 90's when I used to have my Strat in and out of pawn shops on $100 loans. So, I might as well consider it a part of of my overall investment portfolio. Especially since I've yet to come across one with an earlier serial number.
  19. Further confirmation that my pedal's chip was constructed in 1985: CLICK Compared with the prices currently on Reverb, I just might have a $1,000.00+ pedal, huh?
  20. Thank you for the advice, and taking the time to dig out the manual. Interesting info! That was my initial thought... preparing the line to become available in 1986. I would think the earlier the pedal, the more valuable it is. But, I've yet to come across one as early (and in as good as shape) as mine for reference. Here are the most recent ones listed on Reverb: CLICK
  21. Seeing some videos on YT got me interested in blowing off the dust on my Ibanez TS10 Tube Screamer Classic. I bought it at a pawn shop in Fayetteville, NC (while stationed at Pope AFB) around 1989-1990. But it quickly got tossed aside after I purchased my Digitech GSP 21 Pro. Because of this, the pedal is in really great shape. It was MIJ, and has the coveted JRC4558D chip. Compared to those for sale on Reverb/eBay, it has a very low serial number @ 146130. The majority of those for sale online have 3 & 4 series serial numbers. To my surprise, they are selling anywhere from $400 to $1,000+. It seems they skyrocketed in price after folks found out that SRV used one. John Mayer as well. There is a "batch number" on my chip. It is 5069. I've read that the first digit represents the manufacturer year. But, from my understanding, the TS10 was first introduced in 1986. If this pedal was indeed manufactured in 1985, then introduced/sold in 1986, then it is indeed a very early pedal. The only "defect" (if you want to call it that) is that I had to splice in a new battery snap. I just may have to replace that with one that is properly installed/soldered. Here are some pics... 22. You betcha, brother! Their turn-around time might be much better now. But, I certainly would not order one without first confirming that with them.
  23. Looks cool, but there are some "red flags" in the comment section of this link: Some are pretty recent such as this one: "Buyer Beware! Besides the long waiting period to receive the Spark, you better hope you don't have any hardware issues once you get it. This company does not reply to emails when you want to return the unit for a refund or if you have hardware issues! I highly recommend that you stay far away from this company!" So, beware in case they haven't gotten their act together yet. Better yet, before ordering, send them an email inquiry about the shipping wait time and see how long it takes for them to reply. BTW, I can't find a customer service phone number on their website. That's another "red flag" that spells "inaccessible, crappy customer service", IMHO. At least there is a phone number (if it's any good) on the Better Business Bureau website. Be sure to read the complaints there. They are eye-opening: Click Good luck if you order this because it sounds like you'll need it. Peace
