  1. It's possible that the windows drivers with Asio4all is not ideal. Perhaps I will give it a shot with a Focusrite i20i18. That may take some of the load off the cpu.
  2. Yes I would think so as well but my Surface Pro seems to lag a bit with Kontakt running various instruments, especially piano. It's got 8g of ram and it's an Intel i5 so I'm not sure it's as capable as an Intel i7 with 16g or more.
  3. I'm a bit torn putting together a new "fly-away" rig and I am curious what others would suggest. I currently own a Surface Pro 3 and use it a lot live for some light "extra" VST sounds. It unfortunately is not powerful enough to run the entire rig with full piano and layered strings etc... My dilemma is, do I pick up a used Motif Rack XS for the heavy lifting or should I upgrade to a more powerful computer? I prefer a 2n1 because I can easily fold the screen flat and velcro it to a keyboard. If I go the computer route it can't be glitchy... Just looking for some suggestions and specs. Thank you! ð
  4. I am using a Dmc-122 with the Gemini expander. For some reason I can no longer connect to the interface. The Gemini wifi is not available. It doesn't show up in the list of available networks so I have no way of connecting. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have been using this setup for a couple of years now and suddenly it appears not to be broadcasting a signal. Not sure what to do next. Any help would be much appreciated.
  5. Oh thank you. I didn't know that was related to midi as well. I'll take a look.
  6. I apologize if this has been covered but I haven't heard it mentioned here. I use my SK2's second manual as an external keyboard to trigger sounds in my s90es. I realized that there is no velocity control or aftertouch when playing sounds this way. Am I correct about this? Does the Hammond SK2 not send velocity or aftertouch information? If not has anyone found a work around for this? It's hard to believe that the SK2's controller abilities are handicapped like this.
  7. Thank you Bob (Jazzmammal). I do use many settings during a single song. I usually keep one preset and play with drawbars and percussion all night. I am using a Yamaha FC7 pedal. Maybe I am getting ear fatigue but usually by the second set of the night my maxed pedal seems too low. I was wondering if their is an output compressor setting or +4 output gain setting that I am missing?
  8. Hey guys I have been having a little issue with my SK2 regarding volume. It seems that the output is lower than my other keys in my rig. Almost like it has a compressor on it. I usually keep the master volume at 50% cuz I've noticed unwanted distortion when kept in the full position. I have it running through a small mackie mixer, then out to the FOH. But it always seems to me that it gets buried in my monitor mix. Does anyone else experience this?
  9. Has anyone experienced any unwanted distortion with the output set to full on the sk2? I typically run stereo outs to my Mackie mixer, then from there to the FOH. I was told at a gig recently by the sound guy there was some break up coming from Sk2. I usually run the volume on full to the mixer. Perhaps I am distorting the output?
  10. Thanks JMcS. I didn't realize how easy this is to do.
  11. I like the doorbell switch idea. Have you done this?
  12. I absolutely love this thread! Very helpful as I just purchased an SK2. I wonder why this isn't a "sticky". I haven't decided if I am going to get the half moon switch but I was wondering if any one has had any luck with triggering the leslie via a midi control like a mod wheel from another keyboard? I use the SK2 on top of my S90ES and the leslie is a bit far away to reach and I don't want to use a foot switch. Thanks.
