That is shocking news since he was touring recently. R.I.P. Jeff Beck

It is possible to use .htaccess and apache mod-rewrite, but I don't have access to the server with our new setup. And it would be A LOT of work.

I didn't type what I meant. If you use my search example, you will get the old content on the new system. Any search results that include "ubbthreads.php" in the URI will not resolve to anything in the new system.

Try google search - "volca fm" site:forums.musicplayer.com , I had better results to new content.

I looked at the System Logs and their hasn't been one since 2-15-22. Is this only happening in Safari?

I looked through the control panel and see no configurable parameter to use username for login, so we stuck with using email address to login. It's possible that Invision blocks special characters for email addresses, but it's also possible they know that the '+' character can be prepended a gmail address to create multiple email alias all to the same account. My advice - get an email address without special characters.

Agreed.... time to move!

I believe our database is backed up at 1AM Eastern. It does lock up the forums for about 30 minutes because of the table type that it is completely locked while backing up. We requested a conversion to a different table type, but the developers said they would not support the change. We are on a dedicated server. Looking through the firewall logs, I can see that there have been several DDOS attacks that were eventually blocked on Sunday. Perhaps that was the cause of disruption? I put a permanent block on the IP range, so they will not be able to access the forums again.

Thanks for the feedback Joe. Yeah I know about the login issue and we will get to that it"s very complex.

I have older versions of both browsers and had a different experience. This makes sense that something changed and it was browser behavior. We have several other similar reports. As far as https goes, we tried that and lost the ability to view old Youtube embedded videos in modern browsers. They don't allow http links to be displayed in websites that are https. We will be moving the forums to SSL/https once I figure out how to make a fundamental code enhancement to serve old post links that were http as https.

After making a change late last night, I've been monitoring very closely today and haven't detected any disturbance. We all hope this keeps going.....

Changes made. Please continue to report any disruptions.

I made a change to the musicplayernetwork.com site page that may have fixed this issue. (may need to refresh browser cache) Please test again and share your results. I'm also curious about the browser used for the original reported issue.
