  1. Well, i'd love to get a few opinions on some tracks too. heres a track off my bands soon to be released EP. the tracks called New Adventures in Pork Pie Pants and then theres King Leer; or how i learned to kill two stones with one bird The CDs off being mastered at the moment, so these examples are a little bass heavy (but i like the bass lines, so hey!)
  2. well, thanks for the complements... ktempo:the singer is the guitarist (which isnt me - i would scare everyone with my monotone vocals!) i'm only the keyboardist. I've been listening to some of the tracks you guys just put up and jeez i like some of them pretty good Steve LeBlanc:that excerpt is really like somthing that could be on John McLaughlins 'Extrapolation' album. i dunno why but i had the feeling the whole way through that the rhodes and McLaughlins guitar had a very similar tone and style (or maybe thats just me) IanD: The new song made me think of Bill Withers...especially his song 'Just the two of us' (is that the DX or what?). nice song though-i could imagine it on the start of an 80's TV show (sorry if you don't like the thoughts of that!) ktempo:The tune KTempo was nice but i way prefered Sista Breeze - but for the most part thats just because i prefer faster tempos.I think though (if you dont mind me saying) that it would really benefit from a big deep smooth bass line the whole way through (maybe like Zero7 or Air). thats just a personal thing again though. well thats all i've got to say about them for the minute-i might come and listen again after i smoke somthing...i should have a whole new perspective! -starfucker

  4. is there any way to get a downloadable mp3? im behind a firewall and cant listen to mp3 streams. -starfucker
  5. well i guess for my hundreth post i may as well throw my hat into the ring: The Gin Devils though, i have to say we recorded 9 tracks in 13 hours, and they were mixed in a further 30 hours so there are quite a number of little mistakes especially in timing. anyway, tell me what you think thanks -starfucker
  6. Well it looks like im coming into this post pretty late, but here goes. My name is fergal, and come from ireland, im also 18. i started piano lessons when i was about 7, but lost intrest at about 14. i took up the french horn and instantly got put off music (good ol' brass instruments!) about a year ago i got into jazz, blues and The Doors and suddenly the keyboard became intreasting again so i ran out and bought a Yamaha PSR 520. i moved away to university this year (for Computer and Electronic Engineering) along with a guitarist and bassist from the my home town, so we started a band. I now know how crap the yamaha is so im buying an Oberheim OB3^2 (which seems the cheapest good B3 rip off). Our band cant be arsed doing covers, which just take up time so got straight into writing originals. we're going to record them this summer (cocky or what!) and see how things go from there. regards starfucker (by the way to everyone concerned the name starfucker is from Nine inch Nails and not the Rolling Stones!)
