  1. Cool review, Gas! They'll be here in September and I haven't decided to go yet or not (I've seen them three times already) but I probably will. Although its too bad about the flute solo, its nice to know the "pros" goof up every once in awhile!
  2. I wanted to see if there were any concert DVDs out for the band Chicago. Even using Amazon's limited search feature, "Chicago" brought up way too many results to wade through, all having to do with the CITY of Chicago. It got me to thinking, if you're a band intent on making it big nowadays the simple, one-word name may not be in your best interest. Chicago, Heart, Seal, anything like that will hinder any potential fans from finding you on the 'net. You'd be best to combine disparate words (Matchbox 20, Blue Oyster Cult, Frankie Goes to Provo) or intentionally mispell things (Ludacris, Fingaz on the Spelling B, Skynyrd). Or would you?
  3. Wow, all this time I thought this thread discussed Song intros... I'm Scott "Botch" Boettcher, 41, currently working as a Project Engineer at Hill AFB, UT on ejection seat systems for the F-15, B-1 and B-52 aircraft. Besides music I'm also an avid furniture builder (that will be my "retirement" job), teach and enjoy nature photography, and enjoy hiking and downhill skiing (why I continue to live in Utah). I was an Air Force officer for 12 years (worked Electronic Warfare, nuclear weapon safety, and Minuteman missiles) and am still in the Reserves. I came to playing keys kinda through the back door. Played trombone from gradeschool thru college jazz band, then my senior year inherited an old violin. Started playing country (for the money, man...) and soon was doodling on our lady lead singer's keys, and it kinda built from there. I have a modest home studio (G3 Mac, Layla, Vision DSP) and a pretty nice stage rig (Kurz PC88MX, Yamaha EX5, Nord Lead, Emu Proteus, effects, and a badass solidbody electric violin I found on ebay). Live playing's my main thrust, not that good but I have a good time and am currently playing with a band full of excellent singers, all 5 can sing lead AND harmony! Enjoyed reading everyone else's background, we need to get together for a kegger or something.
