  1. I discovered that the Pro-4 Editor allows you to turn down the LED lights on the sliders and after I did that the power issues mentioned above were resolved. The Pro-4 works nicely powered by 2 AA batteries in the PUC+ for BTLe wireless midi and also wired directly to IOS without external power. I suggested that they change the Editor to allow for turning off the LED lights or controlling them via a slider option so you could check your settings and then turn them off again. After playing this for a few days now I have to give this 5 stars out of 5. I posted more on the KMI forum with details.
  2. Did end up getting the PRO-4 and found that it worked better than expected for me. Only issue was that IOS devices and PUC+ need to be connected to external power. It worked fine with Macbook on battery but I will always use these devices with external power. It's a keeper. Update: The Editor allows you to turn down the LED lights and that made it very usable with PUC+ and IOS not connected to external power. I suggest that they add the option of turning off the LED lights to extend external device batter life. Also suggested a IOS Editor App as the web midi option does not work on IOS. Working first with IOS apps to see what the possibilities that are unique to MPE controllers. Pedal Steel Effect - I used a sound that doesn't respond or slightly responds to pitch bend (IGrand or SampleTank Guitar/LPTrem) loaded in AUM along with Thumbjam JR Smooth Steel with MPE on and pitch bend at 12 in ThumbJam. Got the finger vibrato on the Steel so it is noticeable and adjust the vol so when a chord or note is played you don't notice the Steel. Held a chord and then used the pitch bend slider and you will hear the Steel bend but not the piano sound.
  3. Your issue brought up a good point about using drastically different control surfaces. I purchased a Roli Block and found out quickly that I was not skilled enough to use it effectively. Then I saw the Kickstarter Lumi project and was waiting for its release with the hopes of adding the two together like you have. After reading your issue and the comments in the Kickstarter project I decided to go with the K-Board Pro - 4 but it has not arrived yet. Looking at the editor it looks like you can split the K- Board but I don't know if you can have one section non-MPE and the other MPE. That will be the first thing I try, hopefully this week. After reading through both Kickstarter projects, I came to the conclusion that the KMI has far more positive comments. I can still incorporate the Roli Block at a later date if I find that the KMI lacks anything important for MPE. It dose appear that the two handle non-key pitch bending differently. Without the LUMI and the Roli Block working well together I saw nothing that the LUMI brings to the table, in my case.
  4. I found a Pro-4 used and it is supposed to be delivered this week. I plan to use Equator Mac os or IOS Noise app hosted in AUM. Learning keyboard on a CME xkey air with limited key action and hoping I can adjust quickly to no key action. Have a Roli block but I don't feel that was a good choice to learn on. Don't see CME moving towards 4 octaves or I would not been attracted to the Pro-4 as it lacks Bluetooth LE. I have a PUC+ which powers the KMI 12 Step and the QuNexis so I am hoping it will do the same with the Pro-4. Update: Received the Pro-4 and initial testing is going well but some issues. The issues were caused by power issues on the IOS side of things. I started on IOS and had no problem controlling all my apps that I use with my other controller. I tried all the IOS browsers and even the ones that said they support Web Midi did not work with the Web Editor. The ios browser called Web Midi did have a monitor screen that showed the midi commands but the Editor showed Disconnected even after I rebooted and had SysEx enabled. I tried both newer ipad mini, iphone 11 and Ipad Pro 2015.. Noticed that the unit would turn off and on reseting some of the parameters several times. Have an issue with slider 3 and 4. When tapping the right end of either one the unit turns on and off reseting the parameters. The PUC+ powered the Pro-4 we both batteries and external power but drained batteries very quickly so I am going to use it only with external power. When using MPE apps you are sliding you finger up the key and if you go too far you hit the sliders and that change your settings. Thinking I may need to put something to stop my fingers like a rubber band until I get use to it as it is annoying. Have issues with 3rd a forth slider if you touch the right side on either it shut everything and when it reset your settings on some sliders change. That was not a problem when I was connected to PUC+ and I figured out it was a power thing. Without external power the IOS device does not supply enough power. Had no issue when I used my Macbook without external power. The Web Editor worked in Chrome on Mac OS but it did not work in IOS browsers that supposedly support Web Midi. Both editors on Mac OS also worked when I was controlling software sounds so I could check the effects of changes immediately.
  5. Old thread but something I resolved for myself. Started out with a heavy fully weighted 88 keyboard in the Man Cave. Back hurt and my sinuses bothered me. Then I bought a key-tar, Roli block and then the KMI Qunexis but found them too limiting. Then I bought the CME Air 37 and built a stand out of a small folding On-Stage speaker stand that has a removal platform I Velcroed the keyboard to. I can either sit in a chair with a back and play it on the stand or remove the platform and sit it on my lap and play. I also mounted a stand for an ipad mini on the removal platform so I have everything I need and use earphones if my wife is home or watching TV in the same room. The CME is a controller with Bluetooth LE midi so it wirelessly connects to the ipad for sound. I also take on-line lessons which I can watch on the ipad and play at the same time. Found that I am practicing all the time now. I do play other instruments but want to play the keyboard as it helps me memorize chords and scales. Don't intend to play keyboard in public but I do play sax and clarinet on a professional level. The CME has limited key action and I just ordered a KMI K-Board Pro 4 to give me 4 octaves with no key action at all. There is a video of lJ Rudess playing the CME Air 37 on his head. There are many that play key-tars so it is possible to play in most any position. According players have a wrist strap to keep their wrists in a somewhat consistent position and they play the keyboard in a vertical position. It is a matter of training your brain and muscle memory and keeping your instrument in a comfortable and consistent position not to damage your wrists.
