  1. I just want Bert Smorenberg to do a 40 minute video on the Montage M8x…
  2. If it’s too good to be true… In the meantime, I’ll be waiting for the Nord Stage 5 with: 4GB Piano memory 2GB of sample memory user defined split points built in audio interface All of which should exist on the Stage 4 at its price point.
  3. Appreciate the feedback, but we are now operating in the Department of Redundancy, Department.
  4. The audio track is irrelevant. It is not in record mode and monitored when the (MIDI echo) issue occurs. If I delete the Audio track completely, the issue still exists.
  5. USB for audio/midi...that's the way it's setup What I'm trying to do? This is basic midi data recording that I did 30+ years ago in Digital Performer. Yeah, did you watch the video? If so, explain the MIDI echo that exists when set to the M8x as External Instrument but it does not exist when switched to a soft synth. Then switching back to the M8x when it disappears, only to re-appear when the Logic project is re-opened For the record, I'm betting that this is a Logic issue not the Montage M. Either way, I'm just trying to get stuff done without techincal interruptions....poop to that!
  6. Well...as a 45+ year Sam Ash customer, I traded in my RD-2000 (because shipping would be insane), sold my Hydrasynth Deluxe via Reverb and took advantage of the "SMASH"coupon to get my Montage M8x at a great discount.
  7. I'm just recording the M8x as MIDI data in Logic. See the video: https://share.icloud.com/photos/0937-67fMKy3z2pSwnBkyReXw Added as an mp4 attachment. Thank you! Montage M8x Logic.mp4
  8. Seem like a Logic issue but I can't seem to figure it out: Montage M8x Firmware 1.22 Logic 10.8.1 Mac OS 14.4.1 Mac AUDIO/MIDI is setup properly. No Logic Environment settings. Montage M8x, setup via Logic: 1. M8x setup properly in Logic as a Mackie controller, using Montage M Port 2 for in/out 2. M8x setup as External Instrument using MIDI Destination Montage M Port 1 3. M8x in "MIDI Rec on DAW" mode from M8x Quick Setup Menu - Local control is clearly OFF 4. Play the M8x and I have MIDI echo despite Local Control OFF 5. Change Logic track from "External" to a soft synth and back to the M8x External and the MIDI echo is gone. No changes to M8x setup, no changes to Logic settings other than swapping external to software synth and back to external instrument. Save the project, open it and the issue is back.
  9. Agreed…Fantom 08 at 33lbs. I had one and returned it for a Hydrasynth Deluxe which I then sold along with my RD-2000 to get the Montage M8x. I don’t play out anymore. If I did the Fantom 08 would have a keeper.
  10. My old haunting ground. Bought my Rhodes Stage 73 among other things at Sam Ash Huntington. Are you referring to Tom Dubois?
  11. Motorized fader, physical buttons and knobs which may or may not appeal to you.
  12. I bought my Rhodes Stage 73 at Sam Ash in 1977 and my Korg MS-20 1979?...I'm right there with ya...
  13. and NO, I did not have learn and map at the MIDI CC level. I just had to select the function with the shift key held down on the CS12, move the knob I wanted to assign and it appears in the CS12 display mapped to the 12 knob matrix.
  14. Yeah, I was skeptical and almost went SSL which takes up much more desk space and wallet. Worth a look for $400.
