  1. In the studio, Inhave a MOTU express 128 plus a M-Audio 4x4, all connected so, 24 cables at least between the Midi patchbay and the synths.... But beside the Prohet 12 that is USB complaint, all have just Midi out/in/thru, no USB....and live, I use a Roland A880, all channels connected so, same thing ar least 16 plus few thru so, maybe 20/25....I don't want any computer in my live rig so, cables....mIdi and audio, a lot.... But all,in snakes that are all labelled so, even someone who k owns nothing about my rig could plug it in....
  2. I bought a RD1000 for my D50 several years ago and paid 400 CAN$ at that time.... And 400 CAN$ for my Proteus 2000.... So, you got very good deal so....
  3. Plus a Meinl BYZANCE a Dark Crash 17": Meinl BYZANCE Dark Ride 17" And Meinl BYZANCE Medium Thin Crash 19" traditional.... Meinl BYZANCE Medium Thin Crsah 19" See pictures attached...
  4. I want a bit crazy, especially because I'm no bassist or drummer: IBANEZ SR2605, finally paid, ordered on February 2018: IBANEZ bass SR2605 And 3 Cymbaks for my drummer: Zildjan A Custom Sweet Ride 23", 25th anniversary: Zildjan A Custom 25th nun ersatz Sweet Ride 23"
  5. Never realized you play standing, I cannot do that.... The only way I'm comfortable playing standing is with my keytar.... Or during a synths solo to reach the 3rd keyboards and to be more into the Mod wheel and pith bend... I supposed, years of classical training with staring first with the "right position"....
  6. I had a similar situation in a rehearsal.... First time I put me in the main speakers with the new QU16 the guitarist/BL had bought but asked me to run for him, "I was way too loud!!!" He said.... Then, I turned me down, BOTH in my powered speakers (that are geared towards me by the way....) AND the main PA... Next comment I get after "playing" 7 songs (just moving my hands on the keys....) was, "Well, good job, now, that's it, perfect volume!!!!"... To be honest, neither the singer, bassist is drummer noticed my lack ok keys in the mix anyway as well...
  7. Exactly, there is several examples on the Nord forum site for wrapping your keys with another Color.... Yes, the 3M option is the best for sure, better than Vynil.....
  8. Our wifes ALWAYS think we are crazy whatever we buy.... Well, we've been playing keys for years!!!
  9. In a rock situation band, I use a combination of the Nord Samples and Patches from my XV5080, I have the SRX-10 brass extensions.... The "key" is to layer different bards, so, you have different sound/sample and it makes it fuller...But I never had the time to tweak them but I always have in mind my courses in year 3 and 4 of arrangements when I learnt how to arrange horns... Well, I was the only guy who had a day job so, writing them like that was tough for me but I remember the basics...Get in your head the range of each instrument, decide which one will do the lower note, which one the middle note and wich one the upper note and build your chord like that.... For my current Funk/Pop band, we play more Chic/Nile Rodgers than AWB or James Brown....I had chosen two songs from EWF and after having ask few guys on Nord Forun how they do it with only one keys, especially as the horns are strong, they all said they have a horns section, well at least, one sax and one trumpet to do it.... So, I gave up, I like EWF too much for taking the risk to not do justice to them... Hey, and there is strings plus AP plus EP plus.... But when I bought my XV, the Integra had just been realesed.... The XV5080 plus extension was a cheaper solution and 10 years after I still don't regret it... But I never had to play 60% of my parts being brass.... It will be a good challenge, but a real challenge, we are not brass players though.... That's why I left my previous rock band because at the end of the day, the guitarist who was pissed off that I was ask No more songs with keys, was choosing songs were I had "stuff" to do....like e 3 mn solo sax....or full big band brass.... And was never choosing it for gigs because , well, it's not guitar....
  10. Ok, red flags I think I'm in: 1) Bringing too much gear....I'm like this, I don't care if I have to take 1h30 to set up, it's part of my pleasure, and having exactly on stage what I had at home in the studio is what I like.... Well, in fact, in my previous band, I took the C2 first, because they said, well, just do a bit of co ping in organ and that would be enough.... Then they said, "why you don't have Piano on this one? Well, they said keys.... Organ was not keys for them....So I brought the stage 2.... Then they said, "that would be great if you could do, brass, and strings in this one and maybe some Percussions on Santana's songs....So, O brought the expanders.... And when they ask for crazy bending synths solo, I took in the P08.... I ended up having all the keys from the studio moved to the practice place.... 2) Lots of cables, too much cables? Not attached very nicely to the stand...That's me, they never leave me the time to attached them properly with Velcro because they want to start....and yes, with 5 keys, there is a lot of cables...but as someone said, They promoted me sound guy so, they are very pleased when I solved their issues.... 3) Not smiling.... A bit of me at the start of the gig because in my new band, as a BL and MD and Sound Guy, listen to everyone at he beginning to detect any "discrepancies/bad sound/wrong something etc..." But after a whole, I smile....more with my eyes.... But for the rest, I bring good gear, I check several times if they work, I refuse to have a computer because it could/it will crash, there is enough duplicates in my rig that if one is down, I could do it.... My weakness: I have only ONE Ipad, if it crashed, I have to read on all my notes on the charts the program numbers for the songs....So, a second Ipad is on my list, my former second one, 12 years old, died recently....
  11. One guitar? With Keys? You are almost dead!!!! Two,guitars? You have already disappeared!!!! 3 guitars? You are vaporized, no trace could be fond about a potential keys player....But this will be a tough investigation by the guitars-keys regulations police...
  12. A bit OT but recently, at my store, first sport network in Canada, the video/audio p,Ayer was gone...Instead of having a "dead" store with no. Using I out for 3 days, Lachy Doley and Ana Popovic.... Some "kids" came to me and told me that the music was good for once...We always have the same "soup" months after months....As really surprised.... The millennia starts to have good/different tastes in music? Should I post the news about Lachy Doley tour on huddle board?
  13. You have a Mackie mixer with an Aux send/Return, Why not using it to get a one rack unit? Lexicon MX300? Or TC M350? I have both of them and there are great on my sunths....Even cheaper if you buy them used ....
  14. 3 Fender AX2 IEM, one for my drummer, one for my bassist and one for my singer....I missed an SHURE wireless PM200 transmitter receiver at 250 Can$ used but....I have already one and cannot invest always for the other members...
  15. I plan to buy a second voice live rack used for my second lead singer so, I won't bother which one will get to use he first one that I removed recently from the studio to put it on the vocalist rack. Yes, I tprigrammed several patches for specific songs and for pop/Dance/Funk, when the vocals are heavily processed, it work great: The guitar goes to it before going to the guitarist pedalboard and I have it midied as well, so, it receives programs changes AND midi at the same time....which means that, when your guitarist is taking kind of little gimmick/solo, which is a lot on Funk, sometimes, the Natural Play algorithm, NP, could loose a bit the harmonies, not at all when midi take over the guitar....You see the logo NP and Midi on e screen and you know it receives both so yes, definitely a very good product, but yes, go for TC, I was disappointed with the other brands products...
