  1. I was in Germany briefly during the "Christmas mart" days, so so cool, music, decorations, decorated windows in shops, people walking around window shopping with their heated gluehwein.
  2. Before grabbing anything Korg, I suggest checking Full Bucket, who make great Korg emulations for free!
  3. Because they have healthier lifestyles. Also not all such countries rank above us, but that might depend on how you define "industrialized counties" too. The book does seem to have some interesting stuff, but a little research showed me: - He went to a few counties for a single "stiff shoulder" ailment - He apparently saw only one doctor in the U.S. (who apparently graduated from the Frank Burns Institute) - In Britain (where taxes are much higher btw), he was told the system couldn’t offer any solution for his shoulder, due to tight cost controls on what the system will pay for. - In Canada, the waiting list was too long for Reid to see a specialist Please understand I'm not sitting here waving a flag going "USA! USA!" Our system has its faults to say the least. But I think it's an oversimplification to say "look how country X does it and it works better, so we should." There are many financial, cultural, and socio-political factors which makes comparing countries dicey at best. It's a complex issue.
  4. I look at them and loops as more or less than same thing when you get down to it. I've no interest in either, and also can't see a reason to use them when creating new songs. But I can where some would want to use - like say you have a drum stem you really liked and would want to use elsewhere. Mostly for "backing" stuff like that. Certainly nothing in a lead capacity.
  5. I think you answered your own question. And yeah, those "bite-sized" candy bars are deceptively dangerous!
  6. Sorry, $49. I will blame my typing over my brain. (cuz yknow, the 4 is so close to the 9....) Still leery if all it really buys me is scalability. And you're right, much of the stock stuff (esp the "Factory" stuff) is IMO is considerably underrated, not unlike how stock stuff that comes with DAWs is. Human nature, I guess...we see it as a "throw in" so how good could it be? doh!
  7. More like I disagreed with you about one particular thing, and although I clearly and plainly explained why, you somehow couldn't grasp it, so you get in a snit and claim I "didn't explain it," followed up with snotty digs and ridiculous accusations. Speaks for itself. Whatever dude. buh-bye
  8. Thanks - I don't have either. It was more of a general dislike of the UI I think, and that the only thing it really bought you over 6 was the scalable thing, which would be nice, but not worth $99 to me.
  9. I assume you're not referring to me, since that's not what I said. I don't know why you're having a hard time understanding what I said, but whatever. And excuse me for daring to disagree.
  10. I'm debating an upgrade from 6; I haven't heard good things about 7. PS: cross-grade is only $99. I got mine for $125
  11. ...which in some cases is valid. I've actually heard people whine because their insurance won't cover a facelift. Also you have people who have no coverage, not because they can't afford it, but because "it's too expensive" and they roll the dice, figuring or hoping nothing big happens to them...and then it does, but you can't refuse someone ER care or life-saving procedures, so they either lose the farm and/or go bankrupt, and hospitals lose lots of money. No, I don't imply put money over lives, but I also don't expect hospitals to do things for free. These self-entitled people do. Don't get me wrong, I'm with you about what scum hospitals and insurance companies can be, but it's not always them, and if we had everything "free" from the govt, the govt would be declining people in some cases too. Also people would be trying to milk the system to a ridiculous degree (because it's free!) and the result are ridiculously long wait times as described above. Finally some countries have much higher taxes, which go to pay healthcare they may rarely if ever need. As No7 said, they all have their pros and cons.
  12. Michigan survived a game they didn't deserve to against Maryland (not that Maryland really deserved to either with several key bad plays), and I maintain they are way overrated, as is their QB. They will not win or probably even make it to the title game. Meanwhile Oregan, Georgia, and Ohio St are manhandling their respective opponents. Miami and Louisville didn't have any playoff implications, but was a good game.
  13. Orange Tree, maker of great guitar plugins, is having a 35% off sale: https://www.orangetreesamples.com/
  14. Tthey only won 1 game last year, so not really.
