I'm currently using one of these with my GSI DMC-122 organ controller and I really like it for single board gigs. I like how light it is and how easy it tears down. However, I'd kind of like to use something similar with my Kronos, but would really like to have something with a second tier. I like the space on the bottom because on my Kronos, I usually use a 6 space rack that has a drawer in the bottom that contains my pedals and such. There's not enough clearance on a Z-stand, and A-frames are too bulky for what I want. Anything else I'm not thinking of? Or has anyone managed to add a 2nd tier? I totally agree - Gibraltar is going to be fairly expensive compared to "traditional" keyboard stands (I'm a drummer too, so I have bought their stuff for years, it's cheaper than, say, Tama or Pearl, but the ala-cart route will give you sticker shock) - it is super flexible though, so if budget allows, you could build something pretty cool. The steel tubing makes it heavy. I suppose you could do it with some 3rd party aluminum tubing too, but I'm not sure if you could get curved ones, though.

I couldn't ever see myself using one of these stands, but I have retrofitted most of the clamps on my Jaspers A-Frame with Gibraltar drumrack clamps (along with memory locks) and have made a super versatile, super secure stand that sets up and tears down in about 4 minutes and all fits into a lighting truss bag. I have a couple different configurations I can use, but have supported a Kronos 88, a Prophet 12, a Sub37, a Seaboard49, and 2 ipads (along with a beer holder!).
