  1. I am a huge fan. His concert with Chris Thile was one of the best I've ever seen. With that warning, one of my favorite recordings is his trio version of And I Love Her. While I love the whole vibe of the recording, the part at the end (after playing the head out) blows me away every time.
  2. An audio only book: Miracles and Wonder: Conversations with Paul Simon, by Malcolm Gladwell and Bruce Headlam. A interview/discussion (with lots of music) analyzing what makes such a creative force tick.
  3. Thanks for all the suggestions. I have a standard Casio weighted keyboard with nothing on top. Could be the amp or keyboard; I really have no idea. All I know is that when it was plugged into an outlet in the nearby building, as opposed to the power pack, the buzz went away.
  4. I've twice played the same outdoor venue where there is a battery pack they provide for me to plug into. Both times my amp buzzed terribly when I turned the keyboard on. I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff, but the drummer said the keyboard wasn't grounded. The most recent time the problem was solved by running an extension chord from a real outlet. Does this seem like a grounding issue? Is there something I should be doing it plugging into a batter pack of some kind? Thanks!
  5. Didn't think about the Lyle Mays omission, which is unfortunate. But when they put up Chick Corea's name they played a chunk of his great composition Crystal Silence.
  6. I quickly figured out all the tunes but 1, Spot Me. Can somebody tell me which tune that is? Thanks.
  7. Wichita Lineman, although performed by Glen Campbell, was written by the great Jimmy Webb. Alan Pasqua does a great version, as well. Great tune.
  8. Saw them in Central Park, New York, in the mid-1970s. Music was good, but they were so loud I had a ringing in my ears for at least 24 hours.
  9. Thanks to all for the help. The Yorkvilles proved hard to get. Only a few companies still carry them. I found one that did, but they informed me that upon boxing it up to ship to me, they saw the whole batch was defective. I found this On Stage model, which seems to be pretty much the same: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013TPHICA/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 We'll see how it works on Saturday.
  10. Thanks for both suggestions.
  11. I usually play background jazz in restaurants and similar venues. I use a single K8. I've been putting the amp on a chair just to get it off the ground, but one venue now doesn't want us to use any of their chairs. Seems like I need a speaker stand of some kind. I'd like something really simple and lightweight, just enough to get it a bit off the ground. Recommendations? Thanks,
  12. I found the answer to my question! I realized that when I clicked on my old link in my favorites, it was taking me to page 2, so not surprisingly, it looked like it wasn't showing me which threads contained new posts. When I went to page 1, there were the yellow markers. I just had to re-do my favorites link.
  13. Hope a question is allowed: When I sign on, it no longer shows which threads have new posts since the last time I signed on (yellow box). Is there something I need to do to get that feature back up and running? Thanks,
  14. I had another form of cancer many years ago, and after that read up on what I could do. I found that there are three types of cancer you can either avoid or catch early: colon cancer (colonoscopies), prostate cancer (PSA testing, a bit controversial) and skin cancer (seeing a dermatologist). Of these, you don't see too much on recommending that you see a dermatologist regularly, but I can't see any logical reason not to. It's quick and painless, and skin cancers caught early are almost always no problem.
