  1. Wow!! , it's going to be awesome Ken , from what I've seen it's a photographers paradise over there!. Good on you for winning awards&recognition with your excellent photo's (not surprising) Brett
  2. I just bought this Fascinating and Amazing book on the study and photography of snowflakes/water crystals by Kenneth Libbrecht and Rachel Wing (actually I bought 3 of his books ) >> http://www.popsci.com/sites/popsci.com/files/styles/medium_1x_/public/9780760348475_1.jpg?itok=jFggR4UH The subject is incredible , and no 2 snow flakes or crystals are ever the same. They go into a ton of scientific explanation of why they are different, but finally "eat humble pie" on pg 106 , saying they really don't know why . Water is the life force of nature (I found out years ago). Brett
  3. Greetings and Best Wishes for 2016 Friends , and may the Do Re Mi pour in . Really fantastic photo's going on (as usual) , love the bird pic's Mike , So love your night shot xKnuckles!. My night shots suck & are B.S in comparison , it's my equipment >> http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/x/potatoe-4507668.jpg << of course , not me >> https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/bc/Garfield_the_Cat.svg/1280px-Garfield_the_Cat.svg.png
  4. Fantastic photo's going on people! Hey Ken , isn't Darth Vader supposed to be at the top of the big rock? Brett
  5. Definitely the nicest smartest looking stand of the whole lot IMO. Brett
  6. Actually Brett, these photos are extremely interesting and I particularly like the bottom one. How did you manage to take photos of something visible only in a microscope? Does the microscope have a camera? Hi Knuckles, you won't believe it, just by holding the front camera lens central and square on one of the binocular microscopes 2 viewing lenses. I can't believe it's so easy either That hole in the eyelet fitting is 3.2mm , and I can blow it right up to 115mm in Flickr (I have 2 cool binoc microscopes, this one does X 15 ). Brett
  7. Something completely opposite to ugly corrosion. This magical creature is iridescent and holographic, and changes colour from green to blue depending on the angle of light. A sad shame she isn't flying around anymore.... 8. I don't like those crimp connectors either, look at the state of it - white rust , green rust/corrosion galore. The thing is only 10 years old, soldered joints are so superior. Brett
  9. ^^^ Incredible, looks like daylight!. Nothing exciting here folks, just looking at the culprit that was causing my electronic gizmo to shutdown - could also be dogging that Kronos over < there. Through my binocular microscope , this small fitting looked fine to the naked eye, and was done up tight - but no. crook electrical connector 019 by Brett Palmer, on Flickr crook electrical connector 006 by Brett Palmer, on Flickr
  10. Love all the pictures people! Great photo site Richie , and tasty looking toadstools knuckles Brett
  11. A real piano sounds like stereo to me , because I've got 2 ears. Brett
  12. ....I know , at first sight I wasn't quite sure what to think, but it is better and kinder than cow leather upholstery in a car. The guy was a cool down to earth dude with plenty of tats , and slightly concerned that some people might freak out about his "dog seat" , I talked to him a bit about his bike travels - very interesting (and creative) person. Brett
  13. Awesome photo's going on Peep's! Here is a cool motorbike I saw a couple of days ago, bristling with a ton of character (it's owner of course ). He couldn't bare to be parted from his beloved pooch , so he kept his departed dogs hide for his seat covering - that's a first!. 14. Just as well you weren't tied to that railway track Xknuckles Brett
  15. Great timing for a great picture!!. Just yesterday I stumbled across a cute little green bird, but sadly he was upside down cold, with his landing wheels in the air. Had to close his cute little eyes, and place him back into the earth where he was created from... Brett
