  1. I have had a Korg Krome 88 for 7 years. I am in the minority of people here that doesn't mind the action. I have had the internal Micro SD issues, but figured out how to change the card. They seem to degrade after a couple of years and the original card seems to have been under powered spec wise for the size sample the piano are reading. If unaware of that issue, When using the sustain pedal on the large Piano patches, the sound just drops out when it should continue sustaining. The slow read cards seem to contribute to the sample overloading and dropping out. I found an article on how to swap it out with a new card and reload the info. It worked great for a few years and seems to happen again. Once again replacing the card seems to have fixed it. I have found out that Korg says the issue is with one of the internal boards corrupting the card. Mine is long out of warranty, so I have not brought it in for servicing. I also am not currently in any bands to use it live, so I am not too concerned about it anymore. It was embarrassing when it happened live the first time when it just dropped out. Hopefully they have fixed this issue on the EX. I have not heard yet, if the issues are still happening with the new model. Other than that issue I have been happy with the 1st generation.
  2. I have used one with 2 additional tiers for a 3 board rig for 5 years. It is durable, you may want to get a few extra bolts as I had one fall out during transport. It is light, easy to set up and put my boards close together like I like them. Some of the other stands I have used made the third board sit too far away on top. I used a Korg Krome 88 on the bottom, Hammond SK1 in the middle and a Korg Kingkorg on the top tier. The only issue I had is it wobbles a little, may want to put in one more reinforcement. It did not wobble enough for me to worry about it. I would get it again if I ever needed it. I thought it is a little expensive for what it is, but has worked great for me.
  3. Thank you. This is a valuable resource. I do not contribute much, but I have learned a lot of the years. I stumbled across this forum 9 years ago when researching some gear and have been coming back ever since. Thanks for taking this on. This would be a great loss if it disappeared.
  4. With the price drops on DSI, I picked up a Mopho X4 and a Tetra. I have some Ideas for some industrial type stuff that this combo, plus my Moogs can help me achieve.
  5. Hello, My name is John and I have been lurking here for a couple of years. I found this forum while researching equipment. There is a lot of great information here. And you have influenced me to make some purchases. Or maybe just helped my GAS. During the day I work in IT. I am a weekend warrior these days, which is about all I have time for. Now that I have children, my music is been slowly taking the back burner. Luckily everyone else in my band all have small children. I am primarily a trumpet player, but have been playing Keys for 14 years in a cover band in northern Wisconsin. Before that I was in a SKA band for 9 years and really began to appreciate some of the older keyboards. I am a huge fan of Hammond, Rhodes, Wurli, Clav and Moog. I have slowly been obtaining some of the older instruments, and trying to learn about maintenance and repair of these boards. My next project is to restring and yarn my clavinet. Thanks for all the great info. I do not chime in much but enjoy learning from your knowledge.
