  1. I believe that I have the Nord leg extensions that you are looking for. I will have to look for them in one of my many storage bins. Let me know if you still need them. Kelly
  2. Yes, It makes the sound with no keys pressed, no drawbars out, and vibrato/chorus off. The sound does change a little while switching the vibrato switches . The Keyboard still produces sound when drawbars are pulled out. The squeaking noise is very loud. Much louder than the keyboard sound. thanks Kelly
  3. The B2 was sitting in a garage, probably for many years. I have just oiled it a few days ago as I was putting the scanner back in. It did appear to be dry. A tonewheel makes sense as a possible source. I’ll take a look at the generator. Thanks! Kelly
  4. I’m definitely not a tech, I know just enough to be dangerous. I’ll keep working on it. I’d rather be playing it.
  5. Here is a recording of the audio output from my B2. New Recording 3.m4a Thanks Kelly
  6. I should have been more clear on my description. The squeak is in the audio, I don’t hear a mechanical noise. The generator is fairly quiet. It is a high-pitched cyclic tone and I suspect it is related to the vibrato/chorus scanner. Also, the tone changes when the vibrato/ chorus switches are used. I guess it could also be in the generator. thanks Kelly
  7. I recently purchased a Hammond B2 that was not working. The owner had partially disassembled the scanner and motor. He stated it had been making a loud cyclic squeak. I rebuilt the scanner per the the Benton website article. After putting the scanner back in, the B2 is still making the cyclic audio squeak. Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Kelly
  8. Soft Drummer is the one that I use for practice.
  9. I have the Ravenscroft but I prefer the Colossus Red piano (Japanese grand) for iOS. It seems more focused and has more hammer thunk than Ravenscroft. Also, latency really bugs me, Colossus seems to have minimal issues with this on my older iPad Air.
  10. The YC 73 also fits nicely in a Nord Electro 73 HP case. It is not an inexpensive case. Fortunatly , I had one from a previous Nord.
  11. Steve, Sorry for your injury. I am an RN in a ski town. This is a fairly common injury in icy winter climates, you might find yourself a doughnut pillow or other similar device at Walgreens or a medical supply. (as also mentioned by Rod S) These take the pressure as well as some of the pain off of the coccyx.
  12. The YC keyboard action feels fairly light to me, better than a Nord Electro HP action, not quite as good as the CP4. I have enjoyed playing it.
  13. After watching all of the Youtube videos and reading this thread, I bought a YC 73 hoping it would be a good fit for me. I have been using a Yamaha CP4 and a Nord Electro 6 73 recently. YC first impressions: The construction of the YC is excellent, the keyboard is quite playable but not quite as nice the CP4 keyboard. Comparing the YC sounds to the Nord, I found the YC C7 piano fuller and more focused than any piano in the Nord. The YC Rhodes sample “75rd Funky” edged out the Nord Nefertiti Rhodes in my opinion. I have not yet compared the Wurly and Clavinet sounds. The YC synth/strings/pads etc are more refined than the Nord samples, with the advantage of being able to adjust resonance. The YC also has the new pitch bend and modulation levers. The Nord scroll list/category search is easier than Yamaha's rocker switch to select sounds. Comparing the Nord organ to the YC organ, the YC has a distinctive tonality when compared to the Nord. Identical drawbar settings sounded quite different between the two boards. The YC can be adjusted to match the Nord drawbar sound with a little tweaking. With the first 3 drawbars out on the Nord (888), the YC matched the sound with the first 3 drawbars set at 635(ish). The YC chorus and vibrato is more subdtle than the Nord’s. The new Leslie effect in the updated YC is nice, about the same, or slightly better than the Nord. The Nord organ plays better than the YC with the high trigger point keyboard setting. The effects section is an upgrade from the Nord effects, with the ability to adjust reverb per voice/zone. Yamaha has copied many of Nords excellent interface ideas such as the lit rotary encoders, assignable controls, and the general intuitive layout. In doing so, they have made a keyboard that many of us have asked for, a compact package with all of the basic sounds and controls needed for gigging.
  14. Many years ago, my D-50 got caught in a sudden thunder storm at an outdoor gig in Florida. I literally poured water out of the board. The sound tech advised me to open up the board and dry it in the sun before I powered it up again. After drying out in the Florida sunshine, the D-50 survived.
  15. Niacin, I have been trying left hand bass with a Seaboard Block and the Behringer Model D. It is fun to play the Model D with the Seaboard, but it is tricky. The Rise may be easier to control with the larger keyboard. I believe it could be done with some practice. I'm not there yet The Roli Dashboard app allows you to map and fine tune the parameters you want to control in the D. I use a USB Midi host converter to connect the Seaboard"s USB C directly to the D, it works great. Here is a link to the MIDI Host. https://www.amazon.com/Midiplus-USB-MIDI-Host-midiplus/dp/B074NGTGHN/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=usb+midi+host&qid=1589741836&sr=8-1
