  1. Has anyone successfully mapped the iOS VB3m controls to the Korg Kronos and might be willing to help me out? I noticed that the joystick defaults to control the rotary lever, but only acts as a momentary toggle. I would love at the least to be able to control the rotary effect from the Kronos front panel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill

  3. Lonnie, you will have to let me know what you think about the PC4 action compared to the Casio"s? I have thought about the PC4 as an upgrade over the Px-5s. Bill
  4. What are the odds? My first keyboard was a Casiotone MT-68 that my dad bought for my birthday at either Bamberger"s or Sterns department store at the Paramus Mall in NJ. I had actually wanted a guitar, but my dad was cash strapped and it had to be on one of his many store credit cards. I still have the keyboard and recently picked up a power adapter so my 6 year old could mess around. Small world. ð
  5. Well took the plunge and ordered the two tier Tower stand from MF yesterday. Had a 20% off 'welcome back' coupon, so that helped nudge me a bit. I hoping that my pedalboard, and in particular my expression pedal, will fit ok. I would be interested Rich, Will be interested to hear if you find a way to remove the mic adapter. I mainly will be using my NS3 compact as my top board, but also have a Kronos 61, so it might also have an issue with fitting.
  6. Contacted customer service at Ultimate Support. Looks like the expect the Apex One stand to be available in October. Bill
  7. I stumbled on it by accident after seeing a link for the pedalboard accessory that was designed to work with this new stand. I thought at first it was designed to work with my Apex 48. With regard to an alternative to the ultimate support gig bag, I never was able to find anything. I did try using an old golf bag case I picked up at a yard sale. Had to make a cut in the bottom of the plastic case. It did help to keep it safer in the band trailer, but ended up being a bigger pain to sack around, so I gave up on protecting the column from scratches.
  8. Any new updates as to when this new Ultimate Support update to the Apex 48 will be available? Also, has anyone seen one in person with a keyboard on the top tier with the 10 degree downward tilt? I can not see how a keyboard would not slide off? Maybe they are redesigning the arms for this version?
  9. KeyMoe, Thanks for your feedback. It is great to hear that sitting with the Tower stand does not appear to be an issue. When I removed the angle adjustment piece on my Apex it became more stable, but placed the keyboards at such angle that sitting was not possible.
  10. Justin, I agree about the Apex and the issues with pedal placement. I did find a work around with a homeward pedal board that rested on the legs and had a cutout to fit around the column. My guitar player made this improvised pedalboard for me, but once I began using a larger, Gator pedalboard and case, the custom board was less appealing. My big complaint against the Apex was how easy it was to topple over if I removed the wrong keyboard from the stand first. The other issue was one of the legs became lodged in the column when folded up. I had to loosen the screws that held the leg in place and reinsert. Had this been at my normal prison gig, I would have been out of luck, as no tools can be brought into the prison when we go.
  11. Justin, Thanks so much for responding. It sounds like my pedalboard shouldnt be an issue. Curious if you play standing or seated? My Apex 48 I used seared, but it seems that that the Stay angles back ever more than the Apex 48. Thanks again, Bill
  12. Hi, Thinking about giving the Stay two tier Tower model keyboard stand a go. However I am wondering about the width of usable space between the front legs? Would my pedalboard that is 25.5 fit in that space? The lightweight and quick setup of this stand, plus it breaking down into a gig bag for transport, has me sold, but not sure if it would accommodate my pedalboard.
  13. Thanks everyone for your feedback. I now have some ideas for possible solutions that I had not thought to try Tim, you are correct in that I have used the LINK out to send my sound to the snake. Usually, I monitor in stereo. I use inputs 2/3 of the first DXR and connect to the second DXR via the LINK out of first to Input 1 of the second. I set the first DXR LINK to stereo. I then go out of the second DXR LiNK set to mono to the snake. At my last concert I used a single DXR. I wonder if the THRU of the second DXR would be the way to go as you suggested. Would this not be a summed collapse of the stereo signal, or would be just the right input signals from the first DXR? I dont think the mixer has a pad button, but believe the input trim was reduced by my bandmate, but this does not seem to help. I should also note that we have used this method a fair bit, but we do not experience the gain issue at all concerts. Thanks again for everyones input.
  14. So to save brining a separate mixer to my prison ministry gigs, I have been running a feed to the FOH by using the XLR out of one of my Yamaha DXR 10 powered speaker. However, my bandmate who runs the sound has said that my signal is so hot that he has to leave the fader almost off and it is still too loud. Would running this first into a DI box with a DB cut be the way to resolve this? Other things I should try? Thanks for any help you can offer.
  15. I remember reading an article with VH in the short-lived Keyboard World magazine around the time of 5150. Steve Porcaro was a close friend of Eddies and helped design the keyboard rig he used in the studio, but I am not sure if this same rig translated to the stage.
