The Studio Pet-Rock

I've posted the song to a few different facebook groups, and no luck there either. I really, really wish I would have been better about documenting titles of songs back then, but who does that at 8 or 9 years old? At any rate, thanks for trying, folks. It's a tough nut to crack, but I'm going to keep at it. If/when I find out what it is, I'll let you know!

It's definitely an odd one. I vaguely recall hearing it on the radio just a few times and I recorded it by holding my Radio Shack cassette player against the speaker. The tape is long gone, but the song crept back into the forefront of my memory for some reason.

Bits & pieces of this tune have come back to me during the past few years. I first heard it in the mid/late 1970's. It's just a short, basic instrumental - and it's entirely possible that the original was longer - but I made this recording based on what I remember of it. I would be incredibly grateful if anyone here could identify it.
