Does anyone have the lightweight K & M Keyboard Stand 18880?
HammondDave replied to b3plyr's topic in The Keyboard Corner
Love this stand. Just started using it for my two keyboard rig. Sets up and strikes in seconds. -
The way you make it sound is like he is just using this to create “clicks”. How about sticking to the subject at hand instead of suggesting some nefarious motive from Rick? There is a group of people on Keyboard Corner who seem to live in negativity instead of contributing to intellectual discussion about music and its affect on us and our culture. I believe that they enjoy being instigators and for some strange reason enjoy when people like me have to pipe in to defend our colleagues and friends. Many long time members of KC have left this forum precisely due to this. Expect more to leave if this keeps up.

Let it go, man… some of you cats are so lost in your darkness that you have completely lost your sense of humor. Don’t you realize that this is a humorous video that Rick intentionally made (tongue in cheek) that relates to how we are conditioned to hear? My god! Why tear down good people? I know Rick. He is a good man. He is an educator. So what if he is successful? Let’s rejoice in a musician who is doing good work and getting information out to young musicians… along with securing interesting interviews with our major musical influencers that you and I could never dream of getting. Some of us make it, and some of us don’t. No reason to be so negative. .

I saw these cats many times while growing up in South Florida during the 70’s. They even played at my high school prom! As a 15 year old, my band played everything on their first two albums. (Not well, but we got better as musicians by copying their solos). The twin guitars/organ interplay on songs like “Elizabeth Reed” and “Hot Lanta” brought a new sound to Southern Rock. Dicky was as responsible as Dwayne and Gregg in developing this distinctive harmonic interplay to rock. RIP.

The best, most useful and enjoyable keyboard you ever bought?
HammondDave replied to miden's topic in The Keyboard Corner
For cover bands, my current MODX+. Can replicate any keyboard sound (except the B3), easy to program and perform with, and weighs 17 lbs. Hard to beat that! -
Lee Michaels organ tone secrets.
HammondDave replied to Baldwin Funster's topic in The Keyboard Corner
I loved Lee Michael’s. About 50 years ago my band covered “she’s my lady.” -
That was Awesome! I wish you and your beautiful wife better luck in your marriage after performing that song, than I had in my marriage with my ex after playing that song at our wedding. But it’s obvious from the passion you two displayed, that you have nothing to worry about.

Best Hammond clone dry into a Ventilator?
HammondDave replied to MrVegas's topic in The Keyboard Corner
Yup. That’s what I perform with. We don’r need no stinkin’ Vent! -

I once had a wife who kept her distance from my bands. Needless to say, that marriage was destined to fail. Now, I am really lucky man. I now have a partner who completely supports my bands and understands that music and performance are essential parts of my life. What’s better is that she includes herself in the social and professional lives of the band. She comes to as many gigs as possible, helps me as my roadie, and is a happy member of the WAG’s (wives and girlfriends) of the band. I could not have asked for more, and love her even more for all that.
