  1. For cover bands, my current MODX+. Can replicate any keyboard sound (except the B3), easy to program and perform with, and weighs 17 lbs. Hard to beat that!
  2. I loved Lee Michael’s. About 50 years ago my band covered “she’s my lady.”
  3. That was Awesome! I wish you and your beautiful wife better luck in your marriage after performing that song, than I had in my marriage with my ex after playing that song at our wedding. But it’s obvious from the passion you two displayed, that you have nothing to worry about.
  4. Yup. That’s what I perform with. We don’r need no stinkin’ Vent!
  5. And they followed that with that pathetic Hammond sim. OY
  6. I once had a wife who kept her distance from my bands. Needless to say, that marriage was destined to fail. Now, I am really lucky man. I now have a partner who completely supports my bands and understands that music and performance are essential parts of my life. What’s better is that she includes herself in the social and professional lives of the band. She comes to as many gigs as possible, helps me as my roadie, and is a happy member of the WAG’s (wives and girlfriends) of the band. I could not have asked for more, and love her even more for all that.
  7. Man… what a stoner. Love Lee’s playing. My ears are still ringing from his concert back in 1972.
  8. This… along with an iPad for all the other non-organ sounds, is what I gigged with for years. Loved the flexibility of the double or single manuals and ended up playing piano and other non organ sounds on the bottom manual.
  9. 42lbs? Fergetta-bout-it! For weekend warriors playing bar gigs for $100 I make it as easy as possible to set up and strike. I just changed my stand to an all aluminum K 1880 for a quicker setup. Light as a feather. Loosen one screw and open it up. Done!
  10. Our fearless leader! Happy birthday, Brother Dave.
  11. “Even the grim, depressing ones… and God knows there are plenty….” LOL
  12. Thank you, I thoroughly enjoyed that!
  13. When I was 16 I lugged around a Hammond C3 with a 122, along with a wurly, clavinet, minimoog, rhodes, and an Ampeg V4 stack! Now at 68 I lug around a 16lb MODX7+, and an iPad. And it sounds just as good, if not better, than that old, ridiculous weighted rig. Plus, now at the end of the night, I don't have to worry about no one helping me lift that C3 into the van. I say embrace technology. Go lighter, and quieter. Your ears and back will thank you.
