  1. Someone in a previous post did mention using a BBE Maxcom, which of course is a combo Sonic Maximizer/Comp/Limiter. Between that and a small mixer....that could solve some problems. Just my 2 cents worth. Randy
  2. I like the old ones...and I like them all for different reasons. Loved the beginning of Golden Eye. Randy
  3. WOW...that was quick...thanks! Randy
  4. Hi Myles, I just sold it, but do you know why the latest version of the Fender Concert Reverb Amp/4/10 hi gain, was discontinued? It's about an 04' model I think. I never had a problem out of it the whole 3-4 years that I owned it and it sounded good but was more than I wanted to lug around. I did change out the speakers but other than that, it was a good amp. Just curious and thanks. 5. Don't ya' just love a happy ending? Randy
  6. Yeah, but being able to plan your time is important as well. WHAT IF...he were to be accepted but ASSUMED that he wasn't and made other plans? Randy
  7. Yeah, I know the feeling. Look at it like this.... It's not just who's best, but several things. Sure, an added talent such as singing can mean the difference between getting the gig or not. But, what stands out to me is....the fact that they didn't even have the decency to call you back...LIKE AN ADULT...and thank you for auditioning but another person got the gig. To me, that would tell me THANK GOD I didn't get the gig. I don't like people like that....period. It shows their maturity level. It's just common courtesy and they weren't even capable of that. Another thing too. It's not just who's the better player, but which style meshes with the other band members. Sometimes, it's just similar personalities that will get you the gig...even if you're NOT the better player. Hey, you're human, don't worry about...but get over it. Randy
  8. Not a fan of tatoos or body alteration of any sort. I'm a military vet and I got ONE tatoo in Biloxi when I was 21. I am now almost 50. It's not a bad one and it's on my right shoulder so that a short sleeve can cover it. It has had no meaning for decades now and I still wonder why I got it. Yes, ALCOHOL was involved and 15 out of 16 of we drunk bastages got one the same day. People, most of these things are PERMANENT and when you get one, it's just a small window of time that you are responding to your whims and they later on become irrellevent and you spend the rest of your life saying to yourself....WTF was I thinking. Like CMDN said, think LONG AND HARD, EAT, BE OF SOBER MIND AND BODY before you do something like this. If you get one, you only have yourself to blame. Hey, my tatoo is hardly the end of my world. All I'm saying is...explaining it gets old. Randy
  9. By Myles... Randy ... Feel free to pick on me anytime. I am not too thin skinned after being married three times, shot twice, two airplane crashes (I was not the pilot!!!) and three kids. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WOW...OMG!! You the man! Randy
  10. HAHAHAHAHA...I hear ya'. Thanks for putting up with my corny sense of humor. Randy
  11. If Myles contracted macrodegeration and went blind, and I took him on sight seeing trips and described everything for him... ...then..."I could see for Myles & Myles, I could see for Myles & Myles & Myles & Myles & Myles. Sorry Myles...just could resist a WHO lyric on that one. Faithfully submitted, Randy
  12. Hi guys, My name is Randy S. and I'm from Georgia. I'm 49 and have been playing guitar since 1974. I started out in music playing clarinet in school, learned to read music, and did quite well. I went from there to acoustic guitar and shortly there after to electric guitar and have been there ever since. I learned banjo in the 80's and have since taken up bass and finally a year ago, I started on keys and bought the new Roland Juno-D. I've since outgrown it but it was good for what it does and was a good price. I'm really getting into keys and to be honest, in my brain it's far more logical and easier to play than guitar. I'm getting ready to buy my first workstation and wanted to ask you guys advice. After much online research and music store demoing, the new Korg M3-61 key that is coming out in June of this year seems to be the instrument of choice. What do you guys think? I've also considered the Roland Fantom X6 and the new Yamaha XS6. I love composing and I'm mainly an in home, computer based studio musician. I really like all kinds of music and having lived in Europe for a few years was a good "ear opener" for me musically. I prefer Blues & Blues based Rock, but I really like anything with the exception of Rap. Sorry, no offense intended. To close, having started on keys has really brought me out of my slump and opened a whole new world of music to me. When I write a song and having a keyboard there, it was so cool to be able to add so many different sounds instead just guitar and bass. Anyway, I'm glad to be here and look forward to hanging out on ocassion and to learn from you keyboard pros!! Randy Gear: 1989-Am. Strat Plus with S/D's. 2003-Am.
