  1. I posted this Boogie-Woogie Video over on the "Shameless Plugs" section of this site. Didn't know this thread was here. Anyhow, here it is, done at a bar with a band I was in a few years ago:
  2. I suspect that there will be quite a few lightly used SS3's for sale for a while as folks like me sell their heavy ones to purchase one of the lighter units. (yes I want one...10 pounds less is a lot)
  3. No need to paint the Spacestation grill if you want to avoid the logo...just flip it inside out...its black with no logo on the inside, and fits exactly. Also, I cover up ROLAND on my keyboard by having a pro sign made with my name on it. The logo is huge, and this helps with self-promotion. NORD on the other hand is smaller, and IMO, cooler, so its still on there.
  4. A few days ago I posted here about how something went wrong with my SSv3...it made a "pop" upon starting up, and then sounded terrible...very tinny. (drum roll for Math to chime in Very cool pic BTW). Anyhow, Aspen once again proved he is the "do the right thing" champion...he immediately sent me a replacement electronic unit, return postage paid, which upon installation works like new. Thanks very much Aspen for your help.
  5. Help! I have only gigged with my SS once, and used it otherwise as a practice amp, and now will start gigging again soon. Problem: There was a "pop" when I turned it on tonight, and the RD700gx sounded different. * Turning the Speaker HFQ knob all the way each way does nothing to the sound. * Turning the Speaker Mids knob all the way only makes it a tiny bit brighter in the treble. * Turning the Width knob to lowest takes almost all the sound away, leaves just a tiny and tinny sound. I have tried several different good cable sets. I First ran it through a Peavy PV6 mixer, then tried a direct run from the Roland to the SS. Same problem. Am I doing something wrong, or is something broken? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. PS...This was a discounted amp from Sweetwater, so it apparently was used before I got it.
  6. The inflatable tires need to have the air pressure checked regularly, just like bicycle tires and car tires. They will look like they are properly inflated, especially w/o a load...but when loaded and you knock against a curb or something, there is not enough pressure to keep the tire on the rim.
  7. Has anyone used this Ultimate amp stand for the SS? It folds up real small. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AMP150?adpos=1o2&creative=55281441601&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=CMvTmKPb8scCFYKPHwodpXMLbw I have an Ultimate keyboard stand that has seen hard usage for about 15 years and is still doing well.
  8. Does anyone who has done this have any pics of placements like this that has worked ok?
  9. Well, I just took delivery of a SSv3 from Clearwater and got it set up w/Roland RD700gx. Very impressed...loudness with clarity, and able to carry on conversations without blasting noise. Very nice. Thanks Aspen, and all the others here that have given their reports.
  10. Does that mean it was less than the Sweetwater price, which is $750?
  11. Hi Folks: My name is Paul, and I have been playing piano (classically trained) since a young boy, with some serious hiatuses here and there. I just realized I joined back in 2006, and then forgot for a while that I was signed up here...boy does time fly...sorry for the late introduction. I began playing in Blues bands back in 1973 in Massachusetts, and currently teach piano lessons in a music store, and play Blues and Boogie-Woogie in a Blues Band here in sunny (but right now freezing) Florida. Gear is a Rd700sx, and a Nord Electro 61, old version, with an old but rebuilt upright acoustic at home. I look forward to being in this community.
