  1. Hi folks, My beloved Roland Fantom G8 is in mint condition except that the keys are extremely noisy on both the depress and rebound. Nothing's broken or anything - it's just the noise from the bottoming and rebound hitting the top. It's uniform across the 88 note range. They bottom out so hard that my hands hurt after practice! I've got a Yamaha CP300 and CP5 right next to it and the difference is night and day. The way the keys thump the metal chassis on the G8, it feels like there"s no padding at all. I bought it 2nd hand and it"s always been like this but the noise is getting too distracting. I'm thinking of either replacing or adding extra felt strips to the top and bottom of the hammers. Has anyone encountered a similar situation and would like to share insight? Would also love to hear from Roland on whether this is advisable coz obviously I don't want to mess up the velocity and midi transmission! Thanks very much!
