  1. Is it just me or is the search function not working??? It was working for me last week when I used it, but for the life of me I can't get it to give me any results!! I'm trying to find some topics on the kawai es4, and I highly doubt there aren't any topics on it!!! For once the search is NOT my friend...
  2. Well guys, My band finally got our EP done. So it was really the first time I've recorded my own originals in a pro studio with a band, wow it was a great experience. We tracked everything live spread across a couple of rooms. I recorded with a 7ft Yammie grand and my trusty microkorg, we spent a full day tracking, then did some overdubs later. Then spent more time mixing then we did recording! Over in OZ land, there's this program called Unearthed from one of our nation wide radio stations, I've entered our tracks into it. If you wouldn't mind listening to a song or 3 from our 5 - track ep please click here I'd love some feedback so please feel free to review us on there.
  3. Far out Les, that last story is ridiculous, I can't believe he'd not let you play. How long ago was that?
  4. Hey folks, Mind having a listen to my tracks and giving some feedback? The tracks on our myspace at the moment are poor quality live tracks, but you'll get an idea of our sound, songs, style and arrangments. We're recording our first EP in a couple of weeks, so will post an update here with new ones too. Fergus Also add me to your myspace friends!
  5. this is such a great thread. It's great hearing other peoples gig stories...
  6. Yeah i've had some shockers too. "Can you sign these?" flashes after handing me a ball point pen! "You're not really playing that saxophone!" (I was) (after a big saxophone solo, song finishes and the bar goes quite, drunk guy yells) "With fingers like that all the ladies here will want to take you home!"
  7. Thanks Dave for making us feel welcome, I'm sure I'll enjoy my time here, I've already had a great time going through the different threads and learnt a lot, so I really appreciate that this forum is available to everyone. Cheers Scott
  8. EarMaster I believe it is called, I used to use it at school and the conservatorium. There's training in all the pitch/melody/harmony and rhythm stuff, and you can select what areas you want to work on. After a quick google search, here you go, http://www.earmaster.com/ I didn't look how much it costs or whether there is a demo etc. as I said I've only used it a school a few years ago, but i know it's very good.
  9. Hi I'm Scott, Just signed up here. I'm a 20yr old musician from Australia, started playing music at 8 I'm mainly a Pianist/Vocalist/Saxophonist, but also play Guitar, Drums, Bass, and Mandolin. I love songwriting too, at the moment I'm working as a solo musician playing mainly covers in piano bars etc. (playing pop/rock and jazz mainly) but have just joined an original band as a keyboardist/vocalist/r.guitar. My home studio is limited by finance (hey I'm a struggling musician and that's all I do!) but not creativity. Gear: Windows XP Cubase SX WaveLab M-Audio Delta 44 Fender PX-2212D Mixer Philips External Portable CD-RW Recorder (For Live Show Recording) Technics SX-P30 Korg X5D Behringer B2 - Large D Condenser Shure SM58 Shure BG2.1 Senheiser EW100 series - wireless Fender Stage Lead Amp Aria Bass Maton Acoustic G Yamaha YAS-62 Alto Sax Wesley Bluesmaster Custom Electric Guitar Mandolin Alesis SR16 TAMA Rockstar Kit Kustom KPM4060 as monitors a fair few other things that I've forgotten that don't really matter. I'm trying to save for a Yamaha Motif, but meh still got a way to go. I love playing though, so until I get to a stage where I have no choice but to find another job, I'll continue doing what I love. My hobbies are video editing, (but had to sell my hardware recently to buy music stuff), graphic design, and collecting music memorabillia. Anyway, I'm sure I'm going to have a great time at this forum! Scott.
