  2. Just completed recording an album (independently, for fun). Let me know what you think. citizenpark.bandcamp.com Cheers.
  3. That hole in the middle tier is from a recently sold prophet 08. http://www.nebsp.com/images/studio1.jpg http://www.nebsp.com/images/studio2.jpg http://www.nebsp.com/images/studio3.jpg

  5. Hey Timmit, Welcome aboard! The only reason I'm replying to this is that while reading your post, I felt like I was reading my own story! It's amazing. I'm 21 (close enough). Been playing classical for a while too. I too started getting into improv/jazz and other music. I'm also studying computer engineering (very similar to elec) and play keyboards on my spare time. I too taught myself the guitar recently and I was really looking into the fantom X8. To add to that, I too am starting to experiment with synths! I guess most of us music folk have a similar story, but yours is one what was surprisingly similar to mine, so I figured I'd share. There are tons of great folk around here, hope you stay long for the ride. Regards, BS>
  6. Hey all, My question is regarding using USB for midi transfer along side standard midi cable. I want to know if it's possible to have one board send midi to the PC via USB and another send via standard MIDI cable at the same time? (I have a single audiophile 2496 soundcard) Ok I'm going to explain my setup and what I want to do to make it clear: I have essentially 2 keyboards that I'm using strictly as midi controllers. One of them is controlling a motif es rack via MIDI and the latter is in turn talking to the PC via USB (ignore the motif for now). Now I want to have the second keyboard go into the PC's soundcard via standard MIDI In port. My question is as follows: First - Is it even possible to have two MIDI signals coming in at the same time? ie. can the soundcard handle USB and standard MIDI data at the same time? (Is it even the sound card that processes the USB midi data?) Second - If this setup works, can I configure a sequencer (such as Sonar) to record two seperate midi tracks with two independent VSTis at the same time? (ie, each keyboard controlling its own VSTi in its own track) (Note: The question doesn't concern the motif at all, it is just neutrally sitting in the middle. My question is regarding MIDI in general and not a specific piece hardware/software. I think my confusion is regarding USB-MIDI and whether it "replaces" standard MIDI or can work in parallel with it) I apologize if this has been covered already, but I've done my search and couldn't find anything specifically on this matter. Thanks in advance for the help.
