  1. Awesome, thanks so much Myles.
  2. Hey Myles, Hope you're doing well. Just wanted to run something by you to double check I have all my ducks in a row. If I wanted more headroom out of my '74 Deluxe Reverb I could throw a 5751 in v1 right? (I saw you recommended the JAN GE) And there'll be no loss of volume or output or whatever? And should I put one in v2 as well? Will the 5751's react any differently then the 12ax7's that're in there now to being hit with overdrive, distortion and fuzz pedals? Also one of the vendors is offering "matched gain," "balanced triodes," and "matched pair" options. Do I need any of these?
  3. Hey Myles, hope you're doing well. Just wondering what your thoughts were, if you have had any experience with the Weber Copper Cap Rectifiers (link), and your opinion on possibly sticking one in my early 70's Deluxe Reverb. Thanks a lot.
  4. Much appreciated Myles, thanks again.
  5. Sounds good to me, I like supporting the smaller guys too and the Weber is significantly cheaper. So now I'm thinking a Weber blue 50 watt but I think I might take your advice and ask the big guy himself...
  6. Ah thanks for clearing that up. You're the man Myles! So I guess now I gotta decide between the Celestion blue or one of the Weber offerings...
  7. Interesting thanks. So you think AlNiCO is the way to go? How does that work exactly in a 22 watt amp like the Deluxe Reverb with most of the classic-style bluedogs being 15 rated at watts?
  8. Hey Myles, another quick question if you don't mind. What's your speaker preference in your Deluxe Reverb? I have a '74 silverface and I'm toying with the idea of putting something else in it.
  9. Hey Myles I guess no one has thrown this up here but I'm curious so I'll pitch it to you. There's a thread down below about production starting up at the old Mullard plant for new tubes. The tubes look different and they're claiming some interesting things too (link), "The E813CC has the same performance as the world renowned ECC83. Unlike the ECC83 however the variability in performance between two valves is reduced from an industry standard ±20% down to ±10%. Obvious benefits in application set-up are obtained by this new performance. * 10 year life * Planar valve design * CRT cathode proven technology * Supersedes ECC83 * 6.3V driving voltage * B9A pin base" Just wondering if you had any input, thoughts or anything else to share on this. Thanks a lot, much appreciated.
  10. Hey Myles, I've been toying with the idea to replace the speaker in my Blues Jr for a long time now and I was just wondering if you had any recommendations. Right now it's got the stock Eminence "Special Design" speaker in it. I'd like to get a more efficient speaker and one that would make the amp "come alive" a little more if that makes any sense. I feel like the stock speaker is a little lifeless and sterile and I've heard good results from people changing it out. I figure price range around $100. I play a lot of heavy, blues based rock, Hendrix, Gilmour, Gibbbons, SRV, etc. Just wondering what you would recommend. Thanks a lot.
  11. Ahh great. Thanks loads Myles. Your constant patience and knowledge are very much appreciated.
  12. Hmm interesting. Thanks a lot Myles. What about the 6BK7B's and the 6AW8A's?
