  1. Interesting choice of words. No, I left because you guys were giving yourselves money and expecting me to ring up business for you, with you taking the majority and me getting a small pittance. As a guy that helped to keep this place running when everyone left, I thought I would be included. Instead, you took the forums and used to to make money for yourself. You screwed me over. But hey, spin it how you like.
  2. Thanks for the kind words!
  3. Thanks guys. Means a lot to me! I will miss you all! I WILL stop in here, when I can.
  4. I fixed the link for the forum, but to be honest, after Lee passed away, we sort of stopped going there. I left it up for, mainly, archival use. We moved everyone from there over to the Facebook group. 90% of my time will now be spent over there or on the "Guitar Player Forum Refugee" group. You can find the Facebook group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thestringnetwork/
  5. Thanks! Yeah, given the current situation, it was indeed the right thing to do. But, as I mentioned, I will still be active on Facebook, either on the GuitarPlayer forum refugee board or on my Facebook group, the Stringnetwork . I will stop in here from time to time, as long as I am able.
  6. And thanks to all of you who emailed and messaged on Facebook. I WILL still be active on the Facebook GP Refugee group and will try my best to stop in here, whenever I can. In the mean time, You guys should all check out Mike Molenda's guitar forum: https://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/forums/50/1/new-forum-mike-molendas-guardians-of-guitar Damn good guy and super knowledgeable. Don't miss out on the opportunity to chat with him!
  7. I'll see what I can do. However, the new owner and I do not get along so...it's all up in the air atm.
  8. Thanks, guys. We'll see what happens....if this post is even allowed to remain...
  9. Well...It's been a good ride. 16 years I have been on this forum. You guys were here for the birth of my Daughter (She is now 15!). We've gained new friends and lost some old ones. We've learned from each other and taught each other. But, I just don't seem to get along with the new owner. As such, I will be stepping down. I will leave all of the lessons and information, pinned here, so you guys can continue to use them. Good luck, friends. So long and thanks for all the fish.
  10. Indeed. The opportunities are fading away on a regular basis.
  11. I have a raspberry Pi but never thought of using it this way (I made mine into a media server). But, I'd be very interested in trying a project like this, out. If you DO figure it out, let us know here. Would be a cool thing to try, for sure!
  12. Back in my "Road Days", we used to have a little booklet with the names of the staff at the different venues. This way, we could call everyone by their names when we rolled into town. As for professionalism, I couldn't agree more. Leave your band room cleaner then when you got there. Be polite and friendly to everyone you interact with and remember, you are getting paid. It IS a job. Act professional at all times and you WILL be welcomed back.
  13. Welcome to our little corner of the Internet, David! You've already seemed to fit right in!
