  1. MPN21, the Casio PX-1100 (and other models) are about 52" wide; is that too long? I used to use a Nord Electro for wedding ceremony/cocktail jobs, so I understand (plus I've had disc problems along the way) wanting the smaller size. I've been using a Casio PX-S3100 for the weddings and church services. Most of my work is in my home studio writing for library cues and ads/short docs, and when I do perform outside the home I like its light weight (25lb).
  2. I've used the Quik Lok BX-718 for several years; I'm 225. It feels very solid. At one point I had gotten in the upper 230s; sill good, its rated at 300lb. I sold them for several years, also. Good product!
  3. Saw this on Facebook; I"m so sorry to read this. My condolences to you all!
  4. Thank you, Steve; I appreciate it very much!!! I haven't been able to listen to this compilation yet. Looking forward to it very much. Loved the last one. So much talent.
  5. This looks good! I switched from Logic 9 to Cubase in 2012; don't plan on switching back. That said, I probably have hundreds of tracks done in Logic over the years. I recently downloaded the free trial; would like to remix some of the older pieces and create library tracks out of them.
  6. I love Una Corda; really great for getting the Olafur Arnalds/Nils Frahm vibe. I've had it since it came out. Finally recently bought the Komplete 12 package after years of buying individual instruments, like Una Corda. Now getting Massive X was the happy surprise for me! I just bought Noire; has "regular" sounding piano and the felt stuff of Una Corda. Beautiful, also.
  7. The Casio PX-S1000 would be fine for this type of job. I have used a PX-560M extensively in the past for wedding/cocktail hour jobs, playing the ceremony, breaking down and moving to the cocktail location. Works fine, and often get compliments on the sound. I work for Casio as a product trainer, and have also worked for many years selling keyboards. I started using a Casio for piano jobs in 2009 (PX-330), well before I worked for them. Really liked the action and piano sound, and the light weight of the instrument.
  8. Hi, everybody! I have been posting a little while, sort of "under the radar"... I live in the DC area (north, actually), and worked at the largest single music store in the country, Chuck Levins Washington Music Center from 1985 until 2001. I was the keyboard dept. manager there from 1996 until 2001. Got to know Dave Bryce and Mike Martin througn the store; maybe even some of you guys. I compose music for video, do studio work, etc. full time out of my home now. Am also heavily involved with the worship music scene, doing production work and synth/piano clinics occasionally for Sovereign Grace Ministries and participating on the worship team at Covenant Life Church. My keyboards include: JP8000, Triton Pro, MS2000, ER1, SupernovaIIProX, Z1, JD990, e6400, Yamaha VL7, EX5, RY30, S80, Hammond C3, Sequential Pro One, and a Kurzweil Expression Mate. I am a Mac man with Logic, Cubase, Sibelius, and Bias Peak. In the last year I have written a lot of electronica for clients, but my real interest is in the jazz area (Chick Corea/Jan Hammer), and also love Patrick O'Hearn's music. Good to be here! Roger
