Cherry Audio's brand-new... Novachord?
Reverend Rhythm replied to David Emm's topic in The Keyboard Corner
I think we are going to see a wide variety of opinions on these new CA instruments. -
Reverend Rhythm started following Team Test: Cherry Audio GX-80 and Cherry Audio GX-80!
-
I agree with the complement, and I'd love to hear the answer to the question. I'm thinking a "Programing the GX-80" video would be interesting.
-
It takes a long time to wade through the presets. I keep getting distracted by how fun some of there sounds are.
-
Mike Martin's preset, Mr. V's Lead is exquisite! Thanks for posting this list. With 1000 presets it's hard to track down these little gems. I need to put in the "Vangelis" key word on some of them.

I've been re-investigating Apple's Retro Synth as well. And I've been exploring Vital. One more synth I've been using a lot is Cherry Audio's DCO-106 (Juno 106 emulation).

Help with Yamaha CP4 keyboard issue
Reverend Rhythm replied to Reverend Rhythm's topic in The Keyboard Corner
Thanks for the advice! I also posted on Facebook, and got several local suggestions (including emails). Their assessments were consistent with you two - probably contacts or the contact strip. I took the keyboard to Logical Sound, a Tucker, GA (near Atlanta) repair facility today. Here hoping! -
My much beloved CP4 has developed an issue. The A flat 3 and B flat 3 both trigger the loudest velocity randomly. I'm know that I need to take it in for repair, but have had little success with keyboard repair in the Atlanta, GA area. Granted, it could be me. Maybe I'm not choosing the right repair facility or maybe I'm not good with communicating the issue. So I have a couple of questions: 1. Does my description make sense? 2. I have chosen Yamaha repair facilities, but is there a better way to choose? 3. Could I or should I try to call Yamaha? The following is a complicating factor for me: My old Piano. a Roland RD-700, developed similar issues (on different keys - but still triggering loud velocities), and I took it in and paid for two repairs without success! I'm willing to pay., but I would like it fixed. Any advice?

Intro to "Does anyone body know what time it is"?
Reverend Rhythm replied to skykeys's topic in The Keyboard Corner
A quick search gave me this: http://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0082479 As far as transcriptions of every instrument, Ebay seems to be the best bet: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHICAGO-VOLUME-2-TRANSCRIBED-SCORE-by-Chicago-/262370407529?hash=item3d167eb469:g:9fwAAOSwjwlXA0~o -

I spent some serious time listening to that album! And you caused me to go back and listen again! Still love it! There were transcription books for the first 3 Chicago albums. Seems like you could be able to find them. -
What about roland KC keyboard amplifier series?
Reverend Rhythm replied to lekanout's topic in The Keyboard Corner
Friends don't let friends buy Roland KC amps! ...well, unless you can get them for $35.... I still use my KC for a rehearsal amp, so I compare the EV ZLX-12p with it on a weekly basis. For me there is no comparison. Plus, the EV was cheaper. -
What about roland KC keyboard amplifier series?
Reverend Rhythm replied to lekanout's topic in The Keyboard Corner
I had/have a KC-150. I still use it to leave at rehearsal places. I now use and love a EV ZLX-12P. Both keyboards plugged into the EV from the parallels of the direct box. I know there are better, more expensive, options for keyboard monitoring, but I'm happy. And there is no comparison with the KC. -
My favorite documentary has already been mentioned, Standing in the Shadows of Motown. I got Last Waltz for Christmas and have thoroughly enjoyed it, as long as I play it loud! As far as concert videos go, I've really enjoyed "All My Friends: Celebrating the Songs & Voice of Gregg Allman" Chuck Leavell is awesome, and Rami Jaffee does the organ right - including a fine solo in Melissa.
