  1. Using a Mac mini racked with a Radial KL8 is a great rig. Just to add in my experience. I can augment my keys and everything run in the same mixer. The Fantom-0’s built in DAW control pulls the MainStage sets in the fantom and I can can select them on there. I keep a Bluetooth keyboard/trackpad and a usbc monitor handy for adjustments or plugin tweaks on breaks. If needed. It’s a great setup. Racking the mini keeps it hidden and keeps me from getting a laptop dumped on the ground or cords yanked from it. Racking an ups backup with it gives you the standby battery for emergencies. Heavier than a laptop. But road worthy.
  2. I’m not in a position to do that test. But I have played korg module with the Numa X and the latency is very minimal. It’s hardly noticeable playing Ivory with the built in pianos. I use it to add flavor to my patches in the numa. It’s a great board and keeps improving with updates. The Rhodes/Wurly are getting much better and I don’t miss my Crumar Seven as much as I did at first. Seven still is the best Rhodes/playability combo out there. Feels real. But that’s another subject. Numa X with Neo Soul keys is great as well. Very expressive. hope it helps. I’ll try to record it at some point.
  3. Have them both b3plyr. Numa is getting better though with updates. Seven still shines but numa is more functional. The seven only gets gigs where rhodes is essential. Numa is lighter and more durable. Love both.
  4. Ken, it’s no contest between them. Seven just has more depth, more natural sound. Numa x has the faster tp110 action which works better for piano and clav. But Seven is King for Rhodes/Wurly feel and sound. Numa is serviceable though and sounds good in a mix.
  5. I use a powered usb hub and it passes audio through the usb just like on the Mac. The key is getting the powered usb. 👍🏻
  6. Powered USB hub will work. 👍🏻
  7. Have you checked into Luna Display? https://astropad.com/product/lunadisplay/
  8. Funny, I used to think that too. I have all the latest VST rhodes and thought I loved them so much more than my Gemini. A few months back I decided to dive in and use only the Gemini. A month in I did one gig with the vsts. I quickly realized that the response and playability of the modelled Rhodes had so much more life to it. Like a real analog instrument. Closest hand to ear feeling I had since I sold my last Rhodes a year again. My Seven comes today. I've seeked out key actions that are light like a good rhodes with the bump in the key action. I've been using Studiologic tp9 actions in the SL900 and SL90. Older and usually not preferred actions but they just worked for me. Because they are old though, I'm looking to the Seven to last and be an easier set up with more tactile control over the effects. I'll let you know. Having been in a band with Mitch I've always held his sound as a bar for what I like. So my ear is not perfect but quite used to hearing from one of the best. 😉
