  1. FYI: I sent the amp back to Yorkville and it turned out to be a faulty channel switching relay. After replacing all the relays, the amp works just fine.
  2. I also thought it might be the cable, so I bought a new better quality cable but encountered the same problem.
  3. Myles, I bought a Traynor YCV20WR a few months ago from Musician's Friend. My first tube amp. I only play at home, so the amp is set up in my music room. I notice when I turn the volume up on my guitar and play, the amp will cut in and out like it has a short somewhere. It does this on both channels. It doesnt seem to be as noticeable with the volume turned down. I thought at first it was my guitar, so I tried with my Strat and Les Paul and both encountered the same problem. Since I am new to tube amps, I'm not sure if that is common or not. Does the amp have some type of breaker to prevent it from getting too loud or maybe it's a tube problem. Thanks for you help with this.
  4. Myles, A friend has a Crate VFX5212 with 4 12AX7 preamp tubes and 2 EL34 power tubes. Is it possible to change out the EL34 with 6L6 tubes or would you recommend staying with the same type tube that came in the amp? He is looking for tubes that will distort sooner and have more warmth than the stock tubes. Also, I read in your primer about "rebias" of amps may be required if tube types are changed. Can you point me where I can read more information about "rebias" since I don't know what that means. Thanks.
  5. I recently posted a thread about amplifier suggestions/opinions. I've gotten several suggestions to go with different tube amps, however I'm not familiar with any of them. In your opinion, which of the following would you recommend (I play classic rock, southern rock, blues and country). Thanks. Roland Cube 60 Peavey Delta Blues 210 Peavey Classic 30 Fender Blues Jr. Carvin Nomad Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
