  1. haha 😂 ya ur right, sorry didn‘t consider that. If he has the dough though hey go! 😁
  2. Starting out I‘d probably go with GigPerformer (deep but simple, with excellent new features that were user-driven) + Omnisphere (covers almost all synth duties, plus what used to not be the case is now pretty light on the modern cpu) + Kontakt (for the real instruments). Don‘t do what I did, which is buy sooo many softsynths & sample libraries….awesome and fun tho they all are, you just don‘t have the time to maximize & utilize them to their full capabilities.
  3. I had a problem also but it was that the audio suddenly stopped, even though it showed the KL usb audio still connected and software was still running through it, just no audio coming out. It didn’t happen right away, worked for awhile, then suddenly no more audio. Hard to recreate, as it was after awhile during rehearsal, and also happened before after a bit of time as well, so not sure I can call tech support as it would probably be working throughout my call. Anyway, just wondering if someone else had a similar problem. I’ll also try several different hubs and cables and see if it’ll work. Otherwise great unit, but unless I get this figured out can’t rely on the usb part of it.
  4. Sorry one more question if you would be so kind, but did you get or could you tell if you can install any type of extension arms like those from K&M where you can attach things like mics or iPad holder? I use an iPad for scores on gigs, and it would probably need to move up & down along with the keys if I use a motorized stand. There doesn’t seem to be any specific ones offered by roadworx/Thomann, but it seems like it’s possible to adapt some of the other brand’s offerings, just a matter of finding the right screw/nut maybe?
  5. It was this one https://ventiontech.com/products/usb-c-to-usb-printer-cable-for-macbook-pro-scanner-fax-machine-hp-canon-dell-samsung-printer-type-c-2-0-printing-cord IMG_1219.avif As for the hub…I have so many I forgot which ones I tried! 🤣 Lemme get back to you on that. EDIT update: @Gunter I think any hub will do, I just tried again 3 different ones, the Caldigit MiniDock TB3 hub, a Sonnettech Echo dual-nvme tb dock, and a small no-name usb hub. It even charged the iPad (except the CalDigit which doesn‘t have a usb-PD connector). So yeah, they all worked on a new M2 iPadPro running Logic thru the KeyLargo. 😎
  6. How are these working out for you, almost 2yrs later? Any mechanical/reliability issues?
  7. I wanted to get this as soon as I heard about it, but got a little annoyed that I don’t get any kind of deal as an owner of the orig Ivory and American Concert D. Kinda stupid I know, but after spending far too much on other pianos and synths, and with the skyhigh cost of living nowadays, every dollar counts.
  8. Waterfall keys w/ polyphonic aftertouch for the M7x would make it perfect for me, but chances of that are slim to none. Really cool though when they roll out new gear.
  9. Since I never really looked for a standalone Leslie sim, I only now just heard of these. The Ventilator looks very cool, especially the vrs2. I might be tempted to pick one up in a couple months if my need for a Hammond gets serious. Thanks for the tip. And yeah, the Germans really know their shit…kinda like the Japanese…damn Axis out to conquer the world again.
  10. I didn‘t have success connecting an older iPad w/lightning to the KeyLargo, from what I remember. I tried a couple different lightning-to-usb/power adapters, apple & non-apple. What worked was a new M1 usb-c iPad hooked up direct using usc-c-to-usb-B cable, & then also with a hub. For the old iPad I ended up going back to the little Korg iPad lightning interface (those things are great! Why the heck didn‘t more companies come up with that type & make it multi-out?)
  11. Does anyone know if the powersupply in a CP88 (usa) is autovolt? It’s 110, but so was my Korg Triton & turns out it was autovolt even thoughit wasnt labeled that way. I have it hooked up to a small transformer now, but dread the day someone accidently plugs it to 220 w/o the transformer. I’d rather not open it up and look,
  12. It's kind of a double regret...I had a Digital Keyboards Synergy II+ that I got workin' with a Kaypro II computer. Maybe not a great synth, but would have been cool to keep for a collection. Someone offered to exchange his Rhodes Chroma for it, which I didn't do. So, ya, double regret!
  13. Sorry I was referring to Phil's buffer size in ProTools. In Digital Performer, I cannot play any piano/synth at a buffer larger than 128 (whatever the unit is for buffer sizes). The latency is too much. 64 is good, 32 better. The RAM helps when loading sample libraries in Kontakt and stuff like that. I thought 128GB was overkill when I got it for my iMac...but found out I use most of it, with my DAW & all those virtual instruments open along with Sibelius, browser windows, email, Office, Transcribe!, etc. 64GB is definitely the minimum for a main computer. I just wished Apple came out with a 128GB laptop...but maybe a little tiny portable led monitor + macstudio is portable enough to take to a major show or something.
  14. Your buffer setting at 32 to me is most telling. I'm not sure how different PT is to DP, but that low buffer (even at 64) is the one I'm after when I'm arranging/producing. How much virtual instruments it can play at that setting is what I'd like to know. Even at 128gb of ram, my aging iMac Pro can't handle the VIs I need at that low buffer. And as painful as that price tag is to max the internal SSD of the Macstudio, at least one doesn't have to deal with weird issues with external drives (like, one of my nvme ssds prevents my mac from shutting down...which is something I've never even heard of until it popped up one day and I start googling the apple support forums and there it was, for some). Anyway, I understand its probably not something you're into as much, but I'd like to know how it can handle a whole bunch of these new synths that came out, like all the new Korgs (collection & opsix/wavestate) that I just treated myself to, plus the usual Kontakt libraries and Spectrasonic stuff. Regardless, thanks for the thread and looking forward for more posts.
