  1. Greetings fellow players! My album 'Fictional Characters' is finally released! Featuring myself as composer and on guitar; musicians Steve Hunt, (long time keyboardist for the late guitar legend Allan Holdsworth), as well as drummer Archibald Ligonnière and bassist Romain Labaye, (both of whom have been renowned guitarist Scott Henderson"s band on his recent tours and latest album 'People Mover', *which was just voted Best Jazz Fusion Group by Jazz Times Magazine"s 2020 Reader"s Poll). Hopefully you"ll give it a listen and dig it! Thanks! 2. Hey fellow musicians, I've recently released a set of my compositions and just want to share them with people who might enjoy them. There are 9 tracks in the jazz fusion genre and influenced by Tribal Tech, the Yellowjackets, a Chick Corea, Billy Childs, Allan Holdsworth, Mike Brecker, etc. I'm the guitarist and composer and used my Carvin HH2 on all of the tracks, a wonderful instrument that's helped me recover from a nearly career ending injury. This is a heavily composition-focused release where I intentionally avoided riff-based writing and endless shredding. I hope you can take a few minutes and check it out. Maybe even buy it? It's only $9.00USD. I'd really appreciate it. :-) Have a fantastic weekend and take care! Peace, Scott https://scottjonesmusic.bandcamp.com/album/remember

  5. A link to my music is in my signature. For the bored, insomniac, or criminally insane.
  6. Stuff I've been up to is about as far away from guitar playing as you can get. I'm more on the Orchestral and Film Score path now. Links in my sig do include my "guitar-ing" as well as the Film stuff.
  7. Vlad, Wow...I can't believe you actually remembered the "Discoveries" column...! No, I'm not a keyboard player, but I was totally upfront with Titus Levi when he interviewed me, and he just felt it didn't matter, as the sequencing and composition aspects were what caught his attention... I do play enough though, to know how to voice and lay fingerings out logically, so I guess it comes across in the sequencing... Though as you noticed, I am a drummer, still play professionally, in addition to the guitar playing...and that helped me tremendously when considering the parts fo the tunes... Anyway, thanks for taking the time to visit my site... Peace, Scott
  8. Vladislav, Thanks so much for your very gracious words... Yes those parts were all me on guitar... While I'm familiar with Jens Johansson, I haven't heard the "Fission" recording to which you referred...none-the-less, a flattering comparison, indeed... Here are a few more that I just completed this past week.. 9. Thanks bro! And guess what? You're timing couldn't be better... I JUST added my guitar playing to 7 of about 30 of these compositions, this week! So here's a list of MP3's of my fusion tunes with my new guitar parts and solos... Ok, Here are the links to each fusion tune: MP3-All in high quality MP3 files, download time will vary... Again, I composed and sequenced these back in 1993-1995, but added the guitar parts and solos this past week... Muldar\'s Search Every Time Eek! A Mouse! 10. Dan, "Night Drive Through Vegas" was very cool, what are you getting your "guitar" sounds from? Very nice layering and it had a great build to it... "Rain Dance" had some great textures and a really hip drum loop...you have a really good grip on building a tune, layer by layer...without getting overdone... The synth solo patch reminded me of Tony Banks' old analog patches with a bit of Keith Emerson, and though that's obviously not the vibe of the tune, those sounds are really great in the newer musical contexts... Overall, what are you using? Synth Modules, loop software, recording gear, etc... By the way, is that your photography? Great stuff? Excellent composition...it's also a hobby of mine... 11. Dan, first of all thanks for everything (I think you know what I mean...), And regarding this tune... I actually was sort of going for that sort of analog "synthy" sounding horn patch, ala Russ Ferrante... It took about 8 hours from a totally blank slate to completion...and was one of about 50 like it, that I wrote at the time... This is a piece I wrote in 1995, I sequenced everything as I wrote it, in Passport's Encore, by playing onto the on-screen staves, all on a Roland JV-30, supplemented with a D-550, using a Korg DRV-3000 reverb, on a MAC Classic II... It was a dinosaur rig at the time, but I made it work as much as possible, given it's limitations... I now have an iMAC, Protools, Digital Performer, and a KARMA...as my whole approach to writing has changed anyway... Thanks again for your feedback... I will listen to some stuff in here this week, when I have more time... Again, I appreciate your honesty in my other thread... Peace, Scott
  12. Here's a tune of mine: I sequenced all the instruments... One -STREAMING One -MP3 Peace, Scott www.scottjonesmusic.com
