  1. This thread could have it's own forum. I'm not knowledgeable on electronics but I've managed to replace batteries, displays, and restore my old MX-8 MIDI patchabay to working order after the wrong AC adapter had blown it. I have a power supply in a line mixer that started blowing fuses I have a power supply in an effect processor that I think is going out. I have old synths that work fine, but are obviously running on old caps and I don't know if I should preemptively service them or let them fail. So this is a topic of great interest to me.
  2. Hi everyone. I went by Super 8 on the old Music Player and later at Harmony. Then life and child-rearing put music on the back burner for awhile, but I'm back! It's nice to see many familiar names on this forum. I expect old bulletin board-style forums like these are quieter and see less traffic with the advent of social media, but that's fine with me because I've had it up to here with social media. Glad to see this forum is back in action.
  3. Pork Pie makes a funkyass kit. I love my snare, and definitely consider buying a full set. http://www.porkpiedrums.com/media/images/gallery/photos/drumset_eyeballs1.jpg
  4. LiveM, The first song that came to mind is "Goodbye to Love", by the Capenters. Great progressions. Similar tempo. Actually, kind of an interesting song for Karen to be singing, considering her illness. I'm also certain that you would find a bunch of those kinds of songs, among Todd Rundgren's stuff.
  5. Yeah, 'Living On My Own' was a B-side tune that I've done live. Great feel, cool voicings. Love that tune. Ambrosia was one of those bands from that era (1979 thru about 81) that did some great 'Lite Rock' songs. Another one was Player, with 'Baby Come Back'. And of course Micheal McDonald, with tunes like 'Minute by Minute'. There were a bunch of 'em. Nothing edgy about any of them. Just really well written songs. I used to tune into the local 'Lite Choice' radio station to listen for those songs because I liked them so much. But they eventually gave up on that stuff in favor of Celine Dion, Kenny G or whatever Disney-fied crap Elton John or Phil Collins had done. Sorry to get off topic, but the mention of Ambrosia got me thinking...
