  1. I was going to suggest the opposite, boosting around 200Hz. Right now the bass is all woof and no pitch, no attack, I don't hear any definition like the Tina track. 200Hz might help or some higher stuff for more definition.
  2. I found the Dark Side a bit unintelligible. I prefer the more vocal-forward Bright Side.
  3. On its own, I'm hearing it as E aug (add 9 #11)
  4. Mea culpa, I need to admit to never giving Genesis' "I Can't Dance" album a listen because I HATED the title track (and video of dancing like an Egyptian.) But if you uncheck that song in iTunes the rest of the album is quite good.
  5. None for sale, though. I don't understand why the US doesn't have a synth dream store like FiveG in Tokyo. Seeing a stack of three Prophet T8s there is common. Along with almost any other synth you can think of. Usually in multiples.
  6. TP40L = light touch TP40M = standard touch TP40H = heavy touch TP40GH = graded http://www.fatar.com/Pages/TP_40_GH_ES.htm Yes, they make most components in Tunisia now.
  7. B first sued to keep the rights in the USA, but lost the court case in the US Patent Office. I think without US rights the brand wasn't worth much. Or maybe his heart really did grow three sizes that day.
  8. Cool. My MPG80 actually cost a little more than my MKS80.But they've both tripled in value since then. Oh and the knob on the MPG80 can actually program 16 MKS80s at once. But the only person I've seen use that fetaure is Hans Zimmer.
  9. I know that Tony and Phil were fans of Yes. Phil said he used to see Yes "every Wednesday night" and Tony said "Watcher of the Skies" was them trying to sound more like Yes.
  10. I keep coming back to 8dio 1990 Studio Grand. It seems to cover a nice dynamic and emotional range. It's on sale pretty often if you're patient. Cinepiano Piano is Blue used to be another I used all the time but it's very roomy, doesn't have a ton of attack if you need that. Nice atmosphere if you need that thing. Another one that pops up on sale from time to time. I haven't played with any of the physical modeling pianos yet, maybe I should try a demo. The audio demos don't knock me out but I'll bet they're fun to play.
  11. Vintage Vibe? https://www.vintagevibe.com/collections/fender-rhodes-legs
  12. Yeah, those were my first Genesis and Yes experiences too. I still like the mix of prog with a hook, rather than depressing droning over Mellotron. Invisible Touch was a bit too much pop and I never even listened to "I can't dance" except for the single. Though like Tony said, they survived the 80s where most other prog bands didn't (until 90125.) After watching this I bought the Arturia Synclavier V, which was (is?) on sale for $75. I really like it. With the Prophet 10 I'm well on my way to recreating his setup in 1983.
  13. Thread was deleted before I could see it. Sorry for confusion. You get over 40 and comfy chair looks like a good next gear purchase.
  14. Guess the last link was wrong. Here"s Genesis recording the 1983 self-titled album with blocks on the cover. I think it"s 5 parts, should auto-play on Youtube.
  15. I don't have the original, but OPX sounds like an analog synth to me. Like very few plug-ins do. (Diva and ...Diva.) http://www.sonicprojects.ch/obx/description.html
