WOW ..... a dedicated surround forum, just as I'm about to plunge into the surround pool of knowledge myself ...; GREAT ......
I won't be posting a lot because I don't know anything about surround yet but I hope to learn a lot here .....
First question .....
T.C. system 6000 have 5.1 algorythms .... 5.1 reverb / MD 5.1 ....
Are there any other devices out there yet who handle for example a true 5.1 reverb ????

---From a comparative demo I participated in, I believe the Lexicon 960 does real 5.1 verb, although it was not initially able to do as much additionally at the same time as the TC6000, but has the "Lexicon Sound"...
I have not used any other dedicated surround reverbs than the 6000 (except for the aforementioned demo), so can't comment on their functionality. I do know that Sony, Yamaha and Eventide have all issued reverbs that create surround spaces using at least 4 channels, and are capable of recreating real spaces...I find that very interesting.
A suggestion might be to define here what "real" 5.1 reverb is or is not: The TC really allows playing with all 6 channels, but I don't think most folks are using reverb in more than 4 most of the time. I can see situations where I will use reverb in the center, and perhaps even the LFE channel at some point, but haven't yet done so, although I have sent some effects to center.
On top of that consideration, I think that most surround mixers are using other stereo reverbs in creative ways in addition to any dedicated surround reverbs...It gets very complicated and very fun.

We had them at NAMM back in January, but the final version will be at AES and they'll begin shipping right afterwards.

Mike and I have both had the good fortune of using the prototype. The richness is unlike ANYTHING I have ever heard. Wouldn't you agree Mike?

Hi Guys, Chris!
Er King of Talking Loud make a surround reverb, I am desperate to hear surround reverb on a snare!
The Sony DR777 has 4 x outputs I sure wish Eventide thought to put 4 outs on the Eclipse
I have an Axis panner and like Chris, a ProControl for Pro Tools. I have a chum nagging me to set it up soon as he has some film business fast approaching!

check out the preliminary brochure.

I'll be demoing it at AES next month as well as at the Hit Factory in 5.1

Wow, good Pink Floyd alternative: Roger Waters-In the Flesh - live although i don´t think that a live rock gig is the real thing for surround.
generally, i´d prefer electronic music already produced in surround.
the record companies could gaining the money they´re missing from the mp3 business by releasing all the old stuff all over again, just taking the old tapes and pepping them up with some surround fx. Here in Germany, Surround will only come when there´s ONE standard. I wanna use a standard drive in the pc not having different outboard gear for different music i wanna listen to. This is their fault.
Well, somehow i got offtopic now, however: happy surrounding.

I think Julian means the Kind of Loud software's Realverb 5.1 TDM plugin. I just installed it a few days ago. I'll let you know what I think of it when I've had time to use it on a few projects.

I too am brand new to surround sound mixing, so I won't pretend to be an expert. I have noticed that my TC Electronic M3000 has several "Surround Sound" presets, but I don't know what that means as the unit has dual-mono ins and outs. Hmmm...
