I HAVE A MACKIE 32X8 ANALOG MIXER AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT TYPE OF DIGITAL RECORDERS WOULD BE BEST WITH THIS CONSOLE, AND TO RECORD AND PLAY BACK WITH AND BE ABLE TO MIX DOWN ON THIS 8 BUS
MIXER AND USE WITH MY COMPUTER. HOW WOULD THEY BE CONNECTED TOGETHER TO MALE IT WORK

Hi lhuntl, I have the same mixing board. I have two DA88's hooked up to it, and it works fine.

I go direct from instruments to the board to a DAT tape then to an Hbb CD burner.

My computer is not hooked up to it. Don't have a use for that now. Plan on getting Protools someday though.

The DA88's have different connectors that I could go to a computer setup. However direct from the board to the computer , I would think you would need some sort of connector interface that will accept 1/4" jacks that will keep the tracks seperate, then go to the computer as seperate tracks.

I will investigate this a little too. Sorry I didn't help you but this is interesting. Have you talked to Mackie yet?
