Well what do you think? Is the gear driving the price or the studio experience?

I had a client one time look at the gear that I had and elected not to come into the studio to record because they thought I didn't have enough "High end gear". This band also wanted to get everything done for free!!

I was really upset, wow what a dork! I'm glad I didn't go any further with him.

Has this ever happened to you?

Of course gear drives price. Probably equal to or more than experience location and track record. Certain clients will always be more impressed with one over the other. I see no point in getting upset over it considering what this client wanted to pay.
